ILs love to camp in remote locations

I'm 58. I used to camp/hike alot. Now, if I can't have a hot shower and comfy bed at night, I don't do it. I'd have no problems sending my DH and kids if that's what they wanted to do. This should be an 'invitation' event, not a 'summons'.

I hate camping. And they camp in true rugged fashion, this is not glamping.
How much should I suck it up and how much can I politely decline and just send DH and kids? I am not an outdoorsy person nor a good athlete.
I try to suggest other things more to our taste - meeting in a halfway point city for dinner and a show - with limited success.

So just do the fun for you parts-- I've gone on ski vacations over decades. Piddled around on bunny slope for 30 minutes while others were on expert full day. Same thing here

That sounds so fun - for them.
I would send husband and kids alone. I hate camping.
I also think it’s great for a family of origin to get time with just their kid and grandkids!

This is the first time I’m ever going to agree with an in-law complaint. I hate camping.
