OP, you are talking to the wall. The people who do that are somehow special (can't explain what kind of special; I'm no expert) and don't care or listen.
First off, what people did to the wolf, and other animals, is shameful. What they are doing is not for the dog, it's for them. |
and if the store doesn't allow dogs, your dog should stay at home. |
Why do people always bring kids into these sort of conversations? I hate to bring this up, but kids are humans, they bathe, brush their teeth and change their clothes regularly. As much as I love dogs, they are no where as clean or as hygienic as the average kid. Not to mention like someone has said earlier in this conversation, I've never been in a store and seen a kid cock up one leg and pee on a wall, or stoop and take a poop. Also never known a kid to bark at a stranger, growl at a stranger, or bite a stranger in a store. Stores are made for humans not dogs. |
| Just don’t bring them at all. It’s so gross. I don’t understand why this has become a thing. Your dog is not a human. |
I don't see anyone disagreeing with that. The PP I responded to was talking about kids with allergies. |
| People who bring their pet dogs into stores aren’t smart enough to train them. That’s why the dog is in the store in the first palace. |
This. There should be no qualifications about training your pet or not letting them sniff kids. They just shouldn’t be there period. Service animals aside. And I imagine for people with actual service dogs this is quite annoying because someone’s pet may go up and try to engage with their dog while it’s working. Or people are going to become skeptical about whether their dog is an actual service dog b/c so many people try to skirt the rules with their emotional support peacocks and llamas and whatever their stupid narcissistic minds can come up with. |
I guarantee that PP has some annoying, untrained dog she brings in to grocery stores. That’s the only type of person who incessantly compares dogs to children. |
| I thought I had seen more dogs in stores and cafes the past few years but let me tell you, in Europe they are allowed everywhere! Signs even alert how welcome dogs are. They're in trains, boats, on seats, boutiques, inside and any fancy restaurant. Somehow everyone manages without batting an eyelash, it was disconcerting at first but now even I'm used to it and don't mind. It's like you get overwhelmed by them and stop caring. |
Your kid isn’t that special. If it’s a huge problem for you, keep your kid home. |
My signal that I've had enough internet for the day. Are you really comparing a pet to a human child?!? |
Girl, bye. It’s not our responsibility to make adjustments for your kid. I will always take my well-behaved dog places where she’s allowed. Maybe don’t have kids if you don’t have the resources to handle them. |
That PP mentioned supermarkets. Dogs are not allowed there. Stop comparing your dogs to humans. |
Get over it, or take meds. There is nothing wrong with the comparison. |
Way to ignore the point. |
