Some, I'm sure. But this would be a different level of legacy admits. Very prominent and connected parents with major pockets who also happen to be alums.

The Boston area schools would have Harvard faculty parents, giving a big leg up not only at Harvard but other Ivies, especially Brown.

Not even close.

6 out of the 10 are in New York City, 3 are in Massachusetts, and 1 in New Hampshire.
DC privates are legends in their own minds. They do not compare to NYC privates.

Don’t think they are legends in their own minds. The New York and New England schools are local, whereas DC is not. We are in a completely different region.

I'm surprised not to see Harvard-Westlake (LA) on the list.

Likely fewer kids there want to be in the northeast.

HW is much bigger than many of the schools on the list.

They are measuring as % so it would be fewer %. Really didn’t think I would need to type that out for anyone.

yes, except for Sidwell.

What percentage of Sidwell seniors goes to Ivies this year?

I believe 16-20 kids at Sidwell are going to an Ivy. If it is 20, then that would come to ~16.7% of the class.

I’m shocked isn’t that lower than Bullis?

Just stop with the Bullis nonsense. It's tired and overdone on this board.

It is not. Bullis is ~10%.

Why do people care about NYC and other out of town privates? Are you thinking of moving to send kids there? I would think most people couldn’t move to send kids to school. And we aren’t interested in boarding.

How else would you understand how well the local schools are doing without outward comparison? It adds perspective.

I know these are private schools but education (private or public) on the whole is much much better in the northeast than NOVA. It is the one thing the northeast knows how to do right. They truly do invest in their education whereas The mid Atlantic or southern states truly struggle with providing their students a good quality education.

The vast majority of them

These percentages are out of date. The numbers are down a lot for the most recent admission cycles.

Having attended a New England prep school, and seen how wealth and connection can surpass actually academic success, this list doesn't surprise me in the least. What people need to realize is that the kids going to these schools, for the most part, are on a level of wealth that most people in this area cannot even fathom. My NE prep school would fly in sushi chefs from Japan just to have the experience and money wasn't at all a factor.

I'm only seeing 6-10??

the top 5 are in a different post on the same Instagram account.

-Trinity School, NY - 40% students go Ivy

-Collegiate School, NY - 40% students go Ivy

-Brearly School, NY - 37% students go Ivy

-Horace Mann School, NY - 36% students go Ivy

-Roxbury Latin School, MA - 36% students go Ivy

To be fair - this list is only about which schools sent the highest percent of kids to Ivy's (that's 8 colleges). Any reasonable human knows that this doesn't necessarily make them the best schools and that there are over 3500 colleges in this country so defining a school by how many kids get into 8 colleges is a little ridiculous.

1)Trinity School, NY - 40% students go Ivy
2)Collegiate School, NY - 40% students go Ivy
3)Brearly School, NY - 37% students go Ivy
4)Horace Mann School, NY - 36% students go Ivy

Any chance a DC Area school is 11??

Exeter isn't in the Top 10? Wow.

You have overstated the percentage of students at Sidwell that are going to Ivies. On average, there are 125 students in the senior class. This means that the percentage of students going to Ivies fall in the range between 12.8% and 16%.
