Wealth in NYC is on a very different level than DC. These NYC families and kids are much more hooked in comparison to the DC privates.

That is an understatement. Next up would be Greater LA.

I'm only seeing 6-10??

the top 5 are in a different post on the same Instagram account.

-Trinity School, NY - 40% students go Ivy

-Collegiate School, NY - 40% students go Ivy

-Brearly School, NY - 37% students go Ivy

-Horace Mann School, NY - 36% students go Ivy

-Roxbury Latin School, MA - 36% students go Ivy

To be fair - this list is only about which schools sent the highest percent of kids to Ivy's (that's 8 colleges). Any reasonable human knows that this doesn't necessarily make them the best schools and that there are over 3500 colleges in this country so defining a school by how many kids get into 8 colleges is a little ridiculous.

Cannot even fathom that 1/2 the class is going to IVYs!

Are these #s based on the last admission cycle? If so, those are astounding numbers.

To a PP "full pay" is really not any hook at all for Ivy level schools. But being able to be a huge donor is an enormous leg up.

Don’t think they are legends in their own minds. The New York and New England schools are local, whereas DC is not. We are in a completely different region.

Isn’t Collegiate only 40 to 50 boys per class? Of course they send that percentage to Ivys. The school is already presorted for all the best outcomes.

I'm surprised not to see Harvard-Westlake (LA) on the list.

You can’t fathom it because it’s not actually happening. Half of the class is NOT going to an Ivy. It’s 40%. If there are 100 kids in the class, 40 are going Ivy and 60 are not.

How many of those are legacy admits?

Thanks for catching the typo. I meant nearly 1/2.

Likely fewer kids there want to be in the northeast.

I believe 16-20 kids at Sidwell are going to an Ivy. If it is 20, then that would come to ~16.7% of the class.

HW is much bigger than many of the schools on the list.
