Republicans vote to fine a member of Congress

With this precedent in place that you can issue large fines against a member of Congress because you don't like what they said, even if it didn't get a majority vote and technically they voted to send it to a committee to investigate, how might Democrats use this when they have control of the House?

It wasn't that they "didn't like what he said" - he LIED. He misled the public.

Three different Republican Congressmen have been convicted of federal crimes over the past several years and they were never subject to censure.

This is the MINIMUM of what should happen to Schiff.

What did he say that was false? Be specific.

Of course, the Democrats think he has done nothing wrong even though he repeatedly lied about the Russian collusion delusion as well as lied about things Trump said in the past.

Schiff is a joke. He pushed the false Russian narrative. Glad he is being held accountable in this way.

No, they didn't, bot.
Stop this garbage. Lies, lies lies. That's all the GOP right-wing crazies do is post lies.

Schiff is targeted because they fear him. He's going to replace Diane Feinstein in the Senate, one of the most powerful positions in the world.

Can we now have votes to censure the SCOTUS justices who said Roe was the law of the land but then overturned it? How about all of the Republican House Members who lied when they defended Trump? Those are all worse lies than whatever you think Schiff did.

This is corruption and insanity at the price of democracy. Driving and heard it on CSpan yesterday. Couldn’t even find it reported in two major on-line newspapers last night. Headlines dominated by missing submersible.

And yet you can’t list anything specific that he did.

Congratulations republicans, you just handed Schiff a seat in the senate.

We'll start with his false and dramatized version of Trump's phone call with Zelensky when he was chair of the intelligence committee:
https://www.cnbc.com/2019/10/22/house-rejects-schiff-censure-for-false-retelling-of-trump-phone-call.html

Then, we can discuss all the times Schiff has claimed to have "more than circumstantial evidence" that Trump colluded with Putin yet never produced it.

He continued this lie for years.
And, IMO, he should not have been permitted to even question Durham yesterday..... as the promoter of lies when it came to the whole Russian collusion delusion.... he should have been forced to sit this one out.

I wouldn't be surprised if the citizens of CA voted for such a pr**k, but perhaps they will surprise us and vote for a candidate who isn't as divisive and doesn't push lies to make himself seem important. He is a complete phony.

The citizens of CA will love to vote for someone who scares the republicans this much.

Meh.

Some of us have actually read the Mueller report and know the only delusion is the GOP spin.

Can’t wait for the censure of Santos and Jordan and MTG and Boebert for all their lies. Or does it not count when Republicans lie?

Scares? Nope. He is destructive to the nation. That is the problem.
I hope the citizens of CA recognize this.

Lol. Just like the citizens of Kentucky (McConnell), Tennessee (Blackburn), Arkansas (Cotton), Texas (Cruz), South Carolina (Graham), Missouri (Hawley), Wisconsin (Johnson), Oklahoma. (Mullin), Georgia (MTG), Colorado (Boebert), Ohio (Jordan), Florida (Gaetz), Arizona (Gosar) did.

Right?? Far right!
