Republicans vote to fine a member of Congress

With this precedent in place that you can issue large fines against a member of Congress because you don't like what they said, even if it didn't get a majority vote and technically they voted to send it to a committee to investigate, how might Democrats use this when they have control of the House?

Did this actually pass? I know it was tabled the night before the baseball game but I heard they were introducing it again.

It wasn't that they "didn't like what he said" - he LIED. He misled the public.

Like that never happens. Also, it is a vote of Republicans to declare that he lied, not a court finding. Democrats could just as easily declare that a member lied when he says something they don't like.

It didn't pass. About 200 votes out of 220 Republicans.

You are lying and you know it. The bill was defeated with 20 Republicans voting against it. You're so uninformed you need to stick to RWNJ boards. Go away.

The House voted to censure Schiff. Well-deserved.

Of course, the Democrats think he has done nothing wrong even though he repeatedly lied about the Russian collusion delusion as well as lied about things Trump said in the past.

Schiff is a joke. He pushed the false Russian narrative. Glad he is being held accountable in this way.

Agreed. The PPs on this thread going on about Schiff are beyond delusional. The PP that mentioned the upside-down is right. It's like we are in a backwards dimension.

I am sooooooooo tired of GOP BS poop-show where they accuse the Dems of doing things that they are actually doing. It never ends. They waste time on this BS and never actually do anything useful for the country/their constituents.
