You still have a lot of room to move up, no reason to be bummed. |
I have a family member who didn't start feeling any impact until 1.7. Everyone is different. |
Is it the weight loss or the abnormally high level of muscle atrophy associated with semaglutide? |
You are most decidedly wrong about that. This class of medications has been shown to affect dramatic changes in addictive thought patterns. It makes people with obesity have thought patterns like non-obese people who do not struggle with overeating. Thoughts like, “hm. I’ve eaten a sandwich so I don’t need another one” versus “OMG I’M SO HUUNGRY but I can’t eat another sandwich because I’m a fat pig and I’m gonna die young and omg whyyyyyyyy can’t I have it I’m so hungry I’m just gonna have half and maybe just a handful of berries, berries are okay but wait are they low carb? Probably not for effs sake why can’t one sandwich be enough I’m so disgusting no one is ever going to love me and I have nothing to wear to Aunt Nora’s this weekend auuugh I dread seeing her and all of them so judgy eff it this tastes sooooo good OMG I can’t believe I just ate a whole other sandwich I am so disgusting…” To infinity So, yeah. This class of drugs. One sandwich is enough. There’s no more thinking about it. You can go think about other stuff. |
It’s just weight loss and also maintaining a low weight. Sudden/fast or slow doesn’t matter. It’s the loss of volume. |
Is this a thing? I’ve noticed a bit of that but trying to pick my protein and exercise levels. |
Hang in there!! I was the same as you until I went up to 2.0 and added metformin. Now I’m down 23.5 lbs! |
The early reports of unusual levels of muscle atrophy on Dexscans are keeping me from trying it. The haggard faces post-Ozempic are startling, worse than people who’be lost weight without it. It’s so tempting but I don’t want to end up worse off. |
They look sickly the people I’ve seen |
I hit my goal last Nov. According to Wegovy the full strength dose is 2.4. My insurance will pay for 1 month at each strength until you get to 2.4. So I’m on 2.4.
I use it every 2-3 weeks instead of monthly. I would prefer to go back down but then I would have to pay out of pocket. |
Is there loss of strength? I guess I have a vague notion that people who have been using muscles to haul around a bunch of extra weight would, if anything, be stronger on average when they lose that weight. |
Isn't it a weekly shot? So you've been maintaining since November by continuing the 2.4? Any discussion of weaning you off? |
I’m 5’9” and went from 203 to 145 on OZ. My insurance did not cover the meds. I went off it once I hit my goal. Im 8 months off and weigh between 143-150. I weight daily and never g
Let myself go over 150. I don’t carb but but I do exercise and keep an eye on my calories. Im on vyvanse for ADD which has the very pleasant side effect of eliminating all my binge eating. Clearly I have a dopamine imbalance which is the root of my problem. |
Lolol! Once I dropped some weight I had the energy to exercise. I went from not even being able to to a push up to now I can. It only do one handed push ups, I can do pull ups. I look wayyy younger without my fat bloated middle aged face and double chin. Puffiness around my eyes also went away. I no longer have puffy upper and lower eyes, it’s great! There’s a Facebook group with thousands of users and predominantly ozempic face means a much nicer looking face than before. |
Corrected I will say once I hit 175 l, I got so much energy and really cranked up the exercise. |
