Where should we take the kids?

Australia/New Zealand, stop in Fiji or Hawaii on way home if time.

Africa is a continental. Where are people suggesting? What country. Egypt and Morocco come to mind.

So if it's one trip as a family, I'd pick Africa to expose them to something that is different.

Agree with this line of thinking with the accessibility of Europe for your kids as young adults down the line.

I would do South America-Peru, Brazil, Argentina

I would pick somewhere in Africa or maybe in Asia - Vietnam or Thailand. I love Europe, but they've been to Sweden and if this is the ONLY trip, I'd branch out beyond Europe. Europe is definitely a lot easier to access for a young adult

We've taken two incredible trips to Africa that you might consider and that will definitely give you some memories.

First was Tanzania where we hiked Kilimanjaro, did safari in Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti, and then finished with some beach time on Zanzibar. We spent almost three weeks there and had an amazing time. If you decide on Kilimanjaro, definitely pick one of the longer itineraries so that you can acclimate to the altitude properly. For safari, I really don't think you need more than 3 days. You can only sit in the car and look at animals for so long. If you do Zanzibar, stay at one of the beaches but definitely check out Stone Town.

Second was Namibia and South Africa. We spent a couple nights in Windhoek, which was interesting, then drove to Namib-Naukluft National Park. The landscape at the national park was out of this world and we were able to do some really cool dune hikes. Then we spent a few nights on the Skeleton Coast in Swapakmond. We then flew to Cape Town, which is absolutely beautiful, and has plenty to offer. We went out to Robben Island, hit the vineyards, hiked Table Mountain, etc. The Western Cape in general is gorgeous and I think you would have a great time there.
