City life is becoming untenable in the USA. |
Agreed. It's exactly how we got into this mess |
We got into this mess when Reagan cut the funding for a lot of public services, including mental health. Not because people care too much. Stop spreading lies. |
| What a worthless pile of doodoo. Send him packing back to whatever sh** hole country he's from. |
Puh-leez. These incidents are rare. |
They are becoming more frequent. And, the fact that they are so sudden and unprovoked is what frightens people. Anyone on the subway can become a victim. |
Or the movie theater, grocery store, airport, concert, school, office building… |
Exactly. This woman was minding her own business. Why aren't people stopping the trains to demand more security on the subway? It is incredibly dispiriting. |
Are there a lot of subway cars at the theater? I haven't been to the movies in a while. |
No one asked you or cares. You inability to see the complexity of the issue is your problem. Anyone dumb enough to get mad because mentally ill people do irrational things like not stay on their medication. |
DP. It is really not that complex. We have seen time and time again that the people who have been accused of a violent attack have been arrested many times before. That was the case with Neely (Neely was on the top 50 list of homeless "at risk"). And so many more. They are arrested and then let out on no cash bail. And, they offend again. And again. If these people are violent or continuously harass others, either lock them up, or put them in a hospital. Get them off the damn streets. Innocent people minding their own business should not have to become victims of these people. |
“I hope that ¥agina having person didn’t hurt that unhoused man’s hands with their head” |
Which is why the world needs Daniel Penny’s in it. |
Those are some sparkling white shoes on the homeless guy |
Sadly I agree |
