DeSantis’s immigration law is leading to worker shortages

What workers? Seems there aren't any.

I mean if you make them citizens and they are not as vulnerable, they will probably want more pay too.

At some point, we have to acknowledge and fix our addiction to cheap and/or illegal and outsourced labor.

Republicans would never acknowledge that. Instead they'd cry about inflation - look at how much prices have risen!!!

Right?

Minimum wage generally kills jobs, but if you have less low-skilled workers, then the wages will naturally go to this higher level, and the effects of the minimum wage law is not a big deal.
If it leads to higher prices, so what? The people most affected by the higher prices, will be making more money.

Of course. But then you aren't allowed to complain about inflation like Republicans have been doing.

LOLOLOL

Desantis doesn't give a rat's ass about vulnerable people. Nope, he does not. He wants to rile up the anti-immigration base is what this is.

Otherwise, show us any pictures of him with the vulnerable -- let's say refugees from other countries, the homeless, the poverty stricken-- listening to their stories and pledging to help them.

Just FYI Florida did not "pass" a bill to raise the minimum wage. That was a voter referendum. Florida voters are MUCH more concerned about everyday issues like worker pay than the legislature, which seems to have no time for anything other than sucking pudding off Ronnie's fingers and antagonizing teachers and gay people.

The videos from Florida aren’t hard to find: Dozens of clips of empty fields, abandoned construction sites, and scores of truck drivers calling for boycotts of the state have racked up hundreds of thousands of views on TikTok and Twitter over the last month. The common thread? Fear and frustration over the state’s newest anti-immigrant law, signed a week ago by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, which mandates that businesses with 25 or more employees verify the citizenship status of workers through the federal online portal E-Verify or face stronger penalties, among other new restrictions

Next up Texas. Why would anyone vote for republicans.

Millions of people moving to FL and TX from CA, NY, NJ, IL....DC losing population...but sure, let's discuss the latest anti-FL conspiracy theory as if it's true...why would anyone not listen to those voting with their feet.

No. That's not it at all. Your up is down rhetoric probably sounds good to you, but we see it for what it is.

It wasn't a bill about protecting workers at jobsites.

The past three R POTUS were wealthy men from very wealthy families.

The past/current three D POTUS were from middle class families, one was even from a divorced family with an absentee dad.

Rs like to vote for actors and entertainers, as well as rich people from rich families.

I think you are confused.

a lot of them work in agriculture and construction, hotels.. mostly owned by Rs.

I think Trump's hotel even hired illegal immigrant labor.

Did someone post about this: Latino truckers calling for a boycott of FL.

The hashtags #noFlorida and #boycottFlorida are spreading.

The big issue with truckers is California passed some rules that have truckers making deliveries to Nevada, then offloading to another truck for the rest of the trip.

Actual no. Texas’s growth was from illegal immigrants. Population growth during the pandemic was zero or slightly negative because there was so little immigration. This lack of immigration caused population decline in Ca, NY, NJ and DC. We need about 3-5 million immigrants a year to have a positive population growth. We are no where near that.

Yeah, I don’t think the construction firms and agricultural firms and hotels that hire seasonal workers in Florida are on the woke side.
