I think it was the pandemic and supply chain issues they were dealing with. |
I’m sorry TM is going out of business because I bought some really nice Denby stoneware there at a great price, and I would have liked to add to that collection cheaply.
But I did think the store was depressing. |
Seriously sad about that! I have a collection and was able to pick up unusual actual German nutcrackers at TM for a song. I could never find a flaw and just figured the version didn't sell thus TM. I always thought of it as first use thrift store, like it seemed like a thrift store but no one had actually ever used what was being sold. RIP Tuesday Morning. |
I just couldn't stand shopping in their stores. It was a really unpleasant experience. The inside basically looked like a Goodwill with old racks, bad lighting and stock just haphazardly strewn everywhere. Nothing like Home Goods which is so clean and organized. |
No. I actually like thrifting or a Home Goods visit but Tuesday Morning was pretty bad. Even when I got good stuff there, like nice gift bags for cheap, it was hard to justify a whole store of random unwanted stuff. Dollar stores are depressing too but at least they sell stuff people need and are stocked regularly. |
i would pick up packages of flatware when I was running short . I always found some kind of treasure there even on a "practical" visit. |
The one in Columbia was the best one. |
I'm drinking tea right now from a gorgeous little ceramic teapot I bought there. |
The prices weren't very good there compared to Homegoods, etc. Always an unorganized mess at the Rockville store. |
+1 You go to those places for the randomness, not for the Saks experience. |
Now you tell me. |
I now get the same Tuesday Morning thrill on my local Buy Nothing. It's all the same stuff, but for free. |
I hate those bric-a-brac type stores, just walking in and seeing all that jumbled dusty stuff piled together stresses me out. |
Clearly we are at an impasse, and can agree to disagree on this minor point. |
I too miss Tuesday Morning. it was my favorite store to browse. |
