PP here. I don't think it's redeeming because he was still a horrible person after that text was sent. He still kept on doing what he does best-spreading lies, sowing seeds of discontent. If this had been a turning point, sure, then it would show he's a good person. Sort of like when a KKK member takes off the hood, moves away from the bad influences in his life, and gets all his racist tattoos removed. But when you have that sort of epiphany and don't change, it's more like when the slaveholders waxed philosophically about how wrong it is to own people and they should free their slaves in their will. Furthermore, feeling slightly guilty about wishing someone he didn't know would be killed for his perceived politics is a pretty low bar for being a good person. I think it takes more. |
+1 And that text wasn’t about sympathy or empathy for the guy being beat up at all. It was all about how Tucker felt about himself and about the white guys he identified with. He’s a horror show, but that’s unsurprising for someone who made a joke about Harvey Milk’s assassination on his yearbook page. This is something that Patrick Bateman might say. |

"If I reduce people to their politics, how am I better than he is?" referring to the guy getting stomped by a crowd of people who I guess WERE "reducing him to his politics"
but Tucker's cool with THOSE guys there it is |

The OP's "source" - SO very credible:
History DNyuz is an Armenian website that plagiarizes content word for word from major news sources. They literally copy and paste entire articles and embed their advertising code for profit. As one can imagine, a source like this completely lacks transparency as there is zero information to be found about authors, owners, location, or mission. QUESTIONABLE SOURCE A questionable source exhibits one or more of the following: extreme bias, consistent promotion of propaganda/conspiracies, poor or no sourcing to credible information, a complete lack of transparency, and/or is fake news. Fake News is the deliberate attempt to publish hoaxes and/or disinformation for profit or influence (Learn More). Sources listed in the Questionable Category may be very untrustworthy and should be fact-checked on a per article basis. https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/dnyuz/ |
"Moment of introspection" -- did he actually think about the racism of the comment that "white men don't fight this way"? I don't think he did. |
It's a plagiarized report from the New York Times, so it's as credible as the New York Times. |
Fox didn't fire him because of this text. They are just spreading stories, trying to make him unhirable by potential competitors. |
You think this makes you really smart but whatever TF OP’s stupid site is, it plagiarized it from the New York Times because Fox News leaked this text to NYT’s Jeremy Peters. So maybe sit down with your media bias fact check links. |
| The problem is that there is a shred of truth to his comment. I have been assaulted by black guys a few times in my life and they were always in a group while I was alone. Jail is the same way. One second you’re fighting a guy one on one and next thing you know one of his boys comes and cold cocks you from behind. Ask any white boy that grew up in a black neighborhood what their experience has been. Tucker is a racist POS and he certainly meant to be so it’s complicated. |
Do you think white guys don’t do that too? That’s just getting friends to back you up. I grew up in a very white farming community and I saw plenty of fights where a few guys either jumped one guy or it started one on one and more jumped in to help their friend. Unequal numbers in a fight isn’t a racial issue, and you’re an idiot racist if you think it is. Have you ever heard of a lynch mob? History is full of examples of groups of white men targeting individual people to fight or worse. |
This is the source they copied. So it's legitimate: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/05/02/business/media/tucker-carlson-text-message-white-men.html |
You realize this happens to black kids in white neighborhoods, yes?? |
If Fox is spreading stories, wouldn't that expose them to litigation from Tucker? If Fox got rid of Tucker to reduce their legal exposure, why would they turn around and increase it again? |
No, I never said that. I actually think there are more similarities than differences between lower class white people and lower class black people than either group cares to mention. I think that the perception comes from the increased chance/frequency that random white guys encounter groups of lower class black men who are among close friends and willing to F someone up. How often does a random black man walk past the front yard of a group of lower class racist white guys in rural WV? |
