For residential schools will they come get your child?

I’m pretty sure suicide or violence against others would qualify.

to send your kid to an abusive environment? no. those places are not equipped to deal with that.

Yikes! I hope you never have a kid with suicidal ideation or attempts.

I do. And I know that kidnapping such a child and sending them to an RTC will not solve their suicidality. Punishment & behavior mod does not help mental health/depression issues, in fact, it will make it worse

8:28 here, thanks so much for proving my point!

Whatever you have to tell yourself.

You've clearly never had to deal with something like this. Be thankful and move along.

OP once you've secured transportation, once they arrive at your home I'd give your teen a chance to go willingly with you. Don't go the "kidnapping" route but allow them to make the decision themselves. Explain your reasons, what needs to happen, and what will happen if they don't comply. Hugs for you OP! You're doing your best given your situation. That's all anyone can do!

My uncle had my sixteen yo cousin taken out of state (parentally-sanctioned kidnapping) to a residential facility where they could get involuntary treatment for drug addiction. Home state wouldn't allow the parent to do it locally when cousin declined.

Cousin, 20 years later - and 20 years clean - is still thankful.

Sometimes life is messy. Good luck!

Drug addiction is a little different from mom & dad deciding you’re just too defiant, no?

No accredited therapeutic placement with actual psychologists on staff uses these kidnap services. You're getting scammed.

Don’t know if they “use” them but I know for a fact that fully accredited placements will give you a list of these services so you can arrange for them.

Seconded. Not a sunny side of life thing, but real nonetheless.
