When ordering a creamcheese bagel I order an extra 1, or 2 , with nothing. There is a ton of cream cheese on that 1 bagel that I can divi it up amongst 2 other bagels .
I always say "no ice" when ordering sodas/lemonade at places with no refills (bball games, amusement parks, etc). |
A lot of fresh bagel places sell a baker’s dozen for a good price. Take them home, slice them in half, put them in the freezer, and eat them 1/2 at a time toasted = 26 days of great bagels for about 75 cents per day plus toppings. |
True! |
A steak at Silver Diner is the same price as a steak from the grocery store and it comes with 2 sides. |
And taxes and a tip. |

These hacks, especially those used on mom and pop local restaurateurs are so tacky. Restaurants have razor thin profit margins.
. The kids meals are meant to be ordered with an adult meal. Not for cheap adults. If you can't afford to eat out just stay home. |

Hacker, please stay home. Hack at home.Workers can see your hacks, and your hacks usually include tipping. The hack also take a lot more time usually, workers time.
If you want to hack, get in and out fast and don't make a mess. If you there just for tea and cake, don't touch the wrapped up silverware that is clearly for dinner. Don't order food to go and then eat it on our patio and leave the packages there for us to clean up. Not an hack. You are cheap and should stay home. |
| I don't know if this is really a hack, but I get Moo shu chicken with extra pancakes and extra sauce- it makes 4 meals for me so I eat it for days! |
Can i bring food from home and eat in your patio if i order drink ? |
+2 We eat at home 95% of the time, but the handful of occasions we eat out then -yes - things like using apps, ordering kids' meals in lieu of adult meals, filling up on Olive Farden salad and breadstix and taking entree home, etc.is the discussion of this thread. And one of the main reasons of people who don't eat out much is the cost of restaurant food - so, yeah, hacks galore |
| I eat a light snack prior to eating out. That way I'm not famished and I can resist the urge to order the bigger and pricier entrees (sometime an appetizer will suffice). |
No. No outside food. |
Would the restaurant workers rather people just stay home? |
|
I don't know how some of you do these "hacks" with a straight face. Do you seriously have so little self respect or just lack a sense of shame?
I've been broke before, and even when you're broke you want a treat now and then, I get it. But good god, instead of embarrassing yourself in public eat a few extra lentil or pasta struggle meals at home before you go out so you can just order a regular meal. |
| fill out those surveys for free quarter pounders or whoppers or whatever. a perpetual chain of free sandwiches if you're committed enough to review each and every meal. |
