Are there any colleges or universities that you refuse to hire from?

Honestly, I hesitate at Ivy grads after experiences with some special snowflakes. They might be smart, but can bring some other baggage and require hand holding that I haven’t encountered in state school grads.

Is Patrick Henry even accredited? Is Liberty?

Yes they both are.

Anyone who uses "ahem" or "cough, cough" or states their pronouns.

Lots of great people with degrees from University of Phoenix, BYU, Hillsdale, even Oberlin. But never, never, never, never, anyone from Colorado College.

There are some funny lists here with random one offs that must be personal bias. Liberty doesn't even have appropriate curricula so it should be on everyone's list.

I would be wary of graduates of any of these universities, but might hire if they seem particularly qualified and don't act like cult members.

But a bigger detraction is that I probably wouldn’t hire someone who put their pronouns on their resume. And I’m not talked about gender neutral pronouns like they/them, I’m also talking about even if a women put she/her/hers or a man put he/him/his. I’m liberal, but I would assume that employee may be potentially difficult.

Pronouns annoy me too, but I think there is a place for them if someone has an androgynous name. I appreciate knowing if Kelly, Cory, or even Drew is a he or she so that I can use the proper form of address (Ms.or Mr.) It is also helpful for names not derived from English language to know the pronouns of the person you are addressing.

I had not considered this; thanks for this viewpoint.

Same. I would be looking for the qualifications and experience, and then interviewing carefully. Some of these people will not fit in culturally, and would be a huge risk when there is too much at stake.

What is DD ed?

"The school that rejected DD Ed" means the university that rejected PP's daughter's early decision application to that university.

PP seems to own that this is a ridiculous bias, but she is fine with it.

University Maryland Global College
Arizona State University
University of Arizona Global Campus
Purdue University Global

Nonsense. Lots of classes at ASU and UMGC are in person classes. You really do not know what you are talking about.

This.

I hire for capabilities, not pedigree.

What do you have against BYU?

My whole family on one side went there. They got an extremely good education. BYU with church member discount was by far the only affordable option with that many kids and the one that was supported/encouraged since they were kids.

All my relatives who went there are also all liberal and democrats. None of them go to church anymore or tithe. They don’t go around using the ex Mormon label or anything but the church isn’t a part of their daily lives and political views anymore.

Religious scam unis, like Liberty.

One of my best employees went to Liberty and has never once even murmured a conservative or religious view at work. I too was worried, but she was the best candidate and it has worked out great.
