Assuming this is not yet another hate on Northeastern post - that would be about the tenth in two weeks - a true troll fail.

Is it "hate" to provide real information? That is how this post started, a change by northeastern to their programs.

The change was actually improvement.

Originally 3 year London then 4th year Boston -> 1 year London to 3 years in Boston.

kind of like first waitlisted and then accepted.

An improvement for the students in the original 3 years in London program. But for the main campus in Boston, it's yet another change that means overcrowding on many levels. So just information for those considering NEU on any level to consider. Go look at how rapidly NEU has grown in the last decades. But not much new infrastructure in place. Learn about the Forced doubles and forced triples, the inability to get classes you need, the inability to find coops despite kids with good grades sending out 100+ resumes, which leads to them registering for courses instead of being on coop on their cycle, which leads to overcrowding in classes, etc.

Hmmm... Northeastern has one of the highest retention rate which translates to overall satisfaction.

This is average among students entered Fall 2017 to fall 2020
Data doesn't agree with your claim.

Yup and I'll bet that stat was also gamed.

Yup they probably threatened the students not to leave, or drugged them, or held them hostage or something

I would go with the actual students attending the school vs haters who got declined.

+1 According to Princeton Review, students give it a 92 rating for overall Quality of Life. For some reason there are many on this board who like to bash Northeastern, but it continues to perform in ways that make the students there very happy.

Have you ever been north of Maryland?

Again, NE collects data only from the subset of students that start on the Boston campus as freshman. All of their statistics are therefore meaningless.

Have you ever been north of Maryland?

Visited Boston at least 15 times, visited the campus three times (for 2 of my kids), travel extensively, been to 45 out of 50 states, so try again.

Have you researched the overcrowding? The forced doubles and triples are a real thing---not hard to find the photos and videos of the rooms---some are as small as 65sq ft per person of space. Everything I state above is from real students/parents of current students. Try following the NEU Parent FB pages, research the university, the details are out there. Look at the CDS and you can see the increase in "reported students" over the last decade. Class of 2026 (fall of 2022 entry) was supposed to be smaller to correct for the over enrollment from class of 2025. Yet that year NEU changed the parameters for NUBound students from "no housing ever on Boston campus" to "eligible for housing sophomore year and beyond if you follow the housing rules". That alone is 200+ possible additional students on campus next fall.
The modifications to this years "3 years in London" and "Mills campus admits allowed to go to Boston" will potentially add hundreds more on the Boston campus come fall 2024 and beyond. Additional students that were not originally planned for, at least when the acceptances came out the plans were not "go to Boston after 1 year".
Without proper planning, these additional students will lead to more overcrowding and many issues will ensue from that overcrowding. So far, I have not seen any of these addressed.
So yes, it's a good School, but it is created potential problems. If the massive overcrowding does not bother you, then pay $80K+/year and enjoy it. But most people will want those issues addressed.

The students at other campuses are eager to join Boston campus - close to 100%.

If you add that, Northeastern retention rate will only go up higher.

+1000

Don't want to hear about the NUIn students who paid for an expensive semester abroad where they did not have the right courses to take, thus putting them behind for their major. Similar for NUBound/Global Scholars---if you have much AP credits, you are too advanced for this program. I bet those students have a different opinion.
