Certainly Ukraine has had significant losses. But every single piece of open source intel shows that Russia's losses have been significantly higher than Ukraine's - and that Russia's rate of loss has gone up significantly. They have now lost more troops in Bakhmut alone than in the entire rest of the war. Even NATO has assessed Russia's losses in Bakhmut to be 5:1 - 5 Russian KIA for every 1 Ukrainian KIA. Some analysts are even saying it's now 7:1. Russia is also losing vastly more via injuries and other factors as well. And we know for a fact that the figures Russia and pro-Russia propagandists tout are utterly, completely, ludicrously wrong. For example, Russia claimed it downed more Ukrainian jets than Ukraine even had in the first place - and Ukraine still has jets in operation. Also, Oryx has visually documented a huge number of pieces of Russian equipment as destroyed or captured, vastly more than Russia admits. |
Maybe he's a murder groupie? You know.. still in the closet and frustrated.. https://www.essence.com/news/tucker-carlson-defends-kyle-rittenhouse-actions/ Who else would claim to be a Dan White Society member in their yearbook? https://sfist.com/2021/04/22/tucker-carlsons-college-yearbook-page-includes-apparent-tribute-to-moscone-milk-murderer-dan-white/ https://www.facebook.com/theweek/posts/there-may-well-be-another-explanation-for-his-dan-white-society-entry-but-tucker/10158187043402522/ |
How do the populations and size of militaries compare? 5-1 or 10-1 losses are good, but overall Ukraine does not have that many troops to lose. |
Russia is already struggling to find people who they can get to serve. Along with a lack of people to train the ones they send to war. And, Russia's functional capabilities are also already suffering. There are already stories of flights grounded because they didn't have enough pilots, plants closing because they didn't have enough workers and so on. Huge numbers of Russians have also fled Russia to avoid having to serve. Not to mention Russia's many logistical hurdles outside of manpower. Ukraine meanwhile has had the opposite, they have a steady influx of foreign volunteers coming in, they have the support of numerous countries to help train soldiers and so on. Ukraine has had a big influx of foreign volunteers |
Absolutely, it is fair to question anything and everything. But that's not what Carlson's doing here. He's parroting Kremlin propaganda. That's bad for the US and bad for Europe. |
This is a very small and obscure corner of the internet - nobody is "amplifying" anything here. Just pointing out and wondering if Carlson is being paid for amplifying Kremlin propaganda. |
|
Putin is being touted as anti-woke, anti-LGBT, etc. on far right US media. Conspiracy theories related to Ukraine and Russia are also being circulated. The far right is incredibly gullible, and addicted to conspiracy theories.

The question you should be asking isn't why Tucker Carlson is parroting Kremlin propaganda. The question you should be asking is why Fox news (a) put him on the air in the first place, and (b) continues to keep him on the air? I think Tucker Carlson's hard turn towards pro-Russian propaganda happened sometime between 1999 to 2002. The reason is that in 1999, he was still relatively normal, albeit a heavy drinker. "In November 1999 (via Slate), Tucker Carlson concurred with journalist Evan Smith when he said that Donald Trump was "the single most repulsive person on the planet." In fact, Carlson added that Trump is "the sort of person I want to keep kicking once he's down."" "In 2002, when he was about 33, Tucker Carlson gave up booze for good (via The New Yorker)." https://www.grunge.com/866448/the-untold-truth-of-tucker-carlson/ Notably, this corresponds to a plane crash he was in, travelling between Dubai and Peshawar, Pakistan. "In the fall of 2001, Tucker Carlson and his father Richard were in a plane crash in the Middle East" "Despite the terror of the crash, there were no serious injuries. However, events could have been very different had the plane not settled in sand, averting a serious fire. Richard recalled in his email how once the situation was under control, a firefighter remarked, "You were lucky you didn't all die." https://www.grunge.com/866448/the-untold-truth-of-tucker-carlson/ The real question is what went on between 2001 and 2009? Between 2001 and 2009, Carlson seemed to experience a meteoric rise in star profile. "In 2000, Carlson co-hosted the short-lived show The Spin Room on CNN.[41] In 2001, he was appointed co-host of Crossfire, in which Carlson and Robert Novak represented the political right (alternating on different nights), while James Carville and Paul Begala, also alternating as hosts, represented the left.[41]" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tucker_Carlson One thing that is also interesting is the connection to Dick Cheney's invasion of Iraq in 2003 and Libby's 2003 meeting (* = this is important - see note at bottom)? Not sure if it's relevant or not, but certainly a coincidence. I believe Carlson's hardcore pro-Russian propaganda phase was in full swing by 2010. In 2010, Carlson partnered with Neil Patel and a number of murky gentlemen. The Daily Caller seems to be the nexus where the successionist themes played out? As an example, one of those involved was John Griffing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Daily_Caller "Former Daily Caller editor John Griffing has a new project: Texas independence. He recently joined the Texas Nationalist Movement (TNM) as the organization’s communications director. The Texas secessionist group has some murky ties to Russia: members representing TNM have made multiple trips to Russia over the past few years, including with members of separatist movements from other Western allies." "These groups and their representatives — all of whom sought to break up their countries, whether in the U.S. or Europe — found a welcome audience in Russia at multiple conferences since 2015." The Russian group bringing the Texas secessionists — as well as secessionists from California and Hawaii — wasn’t a grassroots force. The Anti-Globalization Movement of Russia (AGMR) received funding from the Kremlin. The office of the AGMR’s head even featured a letter from Russian President Vladimir Putin, thanking the group for working “to strengthen friendship between peoples[.]” https://archive.thinkprogress.org/this-former-daily-caller-editor-is-trying-to-get-texas-to-secede-with-help-from-russia-9b8d276cb64e/ https://archive.thinkprogress.org/russia-texas-california-separatism-9809aca9f61d/ "the Russian government chipped in with a “grant” of $55,000 to pay for the conference at a swanky hotel close to the Kremlin, and the rest of the money came from private donors from “Texas and other countries.”" https://www.texasmonthly.com/the-daily-post/texit-forces-welcomed-russian-separatist-conference/ Besides Texas, AGMR-supported organizations also target Hawaii, Purto Rico and California. "Louis Marinelli heads the secessionist group Yes California." "A former right-wing activist from Buffalo, New York, Marinelli first moved to Russia almost a decade ago. He studied at St. Petersburg State University, the alma mater of Russian President Vladimir Putin." "“I immigrated to California, and I consider myself to be a Californian,” Marinelli says from his apartment in Yekaterinburg, a city of about 1.4 million just east of the Ural Mountains and about 1,000 miles from Moscow." "Marinelli’s effort is endorsed by the Kremlin, which hosted Yes California as part of an anti-globalization conference in Moscow in September. The conference was paid for by the Russian government, and the pictures of Marinelli flanked by other “freedom fighters” from Texas ("Texit," anyone?), Catalonia, Ireland and Puerto Rico provided Yes California a veneer of legitimacy." https://www.kqed.org/news/11217187/from-his-home-in-russia-calexit-leader-plots-california-secession "In 2011, Tucker Carlson hired Clarence Thomas' Wife at the Daily Caller." "Virginia "Ginni" Thomas -- noted Tea Partier, fundraiser, anti-health care reform advocate, and wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas -- landed herself a new gig: correspondent at Tucker Carlson's The Daily Caller." https://www.businessinsider.com/tucker-carlson-clarence-thomas-ginni-daily-caller-2011-3 By 2016, Carlson was on the air with Fox, the timing coinciding with the prior trips to Russia by John Griffing. https://www.latimes.com/business/hollywood/la-et-ct-tucker-carlson-fox-20161103-story.html This successionist theme does seem to help explain the bizarre things that Carlson does from time to time? "Tucker Carlson, a guy who doesn’t like to leave his compound in Maine, traveled to Stockton, CA, on Sept. 24 to pay tribute to Sonny Barger, who founded the Oakland chapter of the Hells Angels in 1957. More than 7,000 bikers attended the funeral held at Stockton 99 Speedway. Attired in a sports jacket, button-down shirt and chinos, Carlson stood out like a sore thumb among the sea of black leather jacket-wearing bikers. Carlson told the audience they should follow Barger’s credo of “Stand tall, stay loyal, remain free and always value honor.” The SFGate, the digital arm of the San Francisco Chronicle, reports that Barger was sentenced to six years in prison for conspiring to violate federal explosives laws, convicted of aggravated assault for beating his ex-wife and was charged with attempted murder, kidnapping and racketeering." https://www.odwyerpr.com/story/public/18558/2022-09-28/tucker-carlson-works-tough-guy-image.html * = "Patel served as Scooter Libby's ** deputy before becoming chief policy advisor to Vice President Dick Cheney." "After leaving the vice president's office in 2009, Patel partnered with Tucker Carlson to co-found The Daily Caller, a conservative news and opinion website." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neil_Patel_(political_advisor) ** = "Between 2003 and 2005, intense speculation centered on the possibility that Libby may have been the administration official who had "leaked" classified employment information about Valerie Plame, a covert Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) agent and the wife of Iraq War critic Joseph C. Wilson, to New York Times reporter Judith Miller and other reporters and later tried to hide his having done so.[57][58]" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scooter_Libby Of the "original crew" at the Daily Caller, one of the more interesting people is Neil Patel, who previously worked for Dick Cheney. It does bring into question how much "influence" he had on Cheney's policies (specifically, the ones that helped weaken the U.S. military with unwinnable foreign engagements)? Only an interview with Cheney could probably answer that question. "Daily Caller's Neil Patel with his wife, Patel Systems CEO Amy Patel" https://www.bisnow.com/washington-dc/news/washington-dc-scene/the-third-annual-hoedown-65314 Besides a Patel Systems (a wholesale cctv, fire and security alarm trading company) located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India and another Patel Systems (a computer repair and sales store that has a similar line of business to the other company?) in odhav, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India 382415; there really aren't a lot of leads on this company? This isn't unusual if this is only a "for show" company (which many sales and business people do). |
Very rosy take on things. Tons of Ukrainian men also fled the country plus refugee numbers are in 8 million, give or take. The truth is that the US coverage of the Ukrainian army is deliberately cheerful while the coverage of the Russian army is deliberately negative. To do otherwise would undermine the narrative. The truth is always more nuanced. I’m surprised more people don’t notice the obvious paradox of “the Russian army is crumbling and ineffective so give us more money to fight it.” I mean if they were really so bad, why didn’t you win yet? |
Hopefully they become more ineffective. If they are so great why are they targeting civilians and using prisoners in the ranks? |
| Because prisoners are less valuable. |
I'd say this chart would indicate declining effectiveness of Russian troops.

I appreciate you pulling this together and putting it here. It's going to take a bit to read it all and look at this links but thanks for the info! |

Putin wouldn't have had the money to attack Ukraine if Joe Biden's ideology was not in place to artificially double the price of petroleum. That's Russia's number one export.
Don't even act like it didn't happen. Biden campaigned on killing oil any way he could and hist first week EO's did a lot of the damage to Russia's delight. |
