Vacation rental in sketchy neighborhood

Anonymous
OK let me see if I have this right...

He "requires" a house that is new, meticulous, quiet, and in an upscale neighborhood, but it has to cost less than a high class hotel.

And you are the one who is responsible for fulfilling his every need.

And he will be furious if his needs are not met.

I think you have issues to deal with that are not vacation-related.

What do you mean by sketchy?

US or elsewhere?

US. Coastal area. Tons of vacation rentals in neighboring tourist towns, to be fair, but mostly condos (he requires a house) or out of our budget.

A lot of coastal neighboring towns are this way. Many times working class people live here who work the resorts.

OP, you can check the crime rates for the area on line.

It is easy to pull up a map of crimes in Maryland by town/city for example.

OP, is it a town of working poor? Or is crime truly rampant?

A museum trip to a small site / town? May as well cancel. Regardless of how sketch or not the lodging is.

Great, no one asked you.

Ok fine. Yes, OP should tell her husband knowing he will want to cancel this terrible sounding trip.

You're not invited, so your input is meaninglesd.

OP literally asked, and I quote “Do I confess, knowing he'll insist on canceling?”

I was merely answering the question posed in the OP.

Reading comp is hard, I know.

No one asked what you think of the vacation itself.

I feel similarly. This vacation is not a tasty cup of tea. Sorry, not sorry.

We won't be there much. This is mostly a museum trip.

If it truly is a sketch neighborhood, you will be marked the minute you roll into to town.

Nah, we don't dress upscale on vacation and will be in a rental car.

You are marked because you aren't from the neighborhood. Doesn't matter how you dress or what your car looks like.
