In case you want something with more coverage this style could work https://lyraswimwear.com/products/sofia-crop-lunar

Yet another vote for lands end here! they’re also a great suit for moms with small kids because they’re cut in a way that things aren’t popping/slipping out when you are bending to deal with your kids or having your top yanked by a 2 yo. If lands end can survive that then it will work for anyone.

Honestly I would sign up for instagram and follow plus size influencers for ideas. There are many!

I'm a 16 - try Summersalt! The one shoulder suit is universally flattering.

My life changed for the better when I stopped wearing a swimsuit. There are many other things you can wear, to be in the pool, swim, lay by the pool or beach.

I am so encouraged by all of the attractive options you guys have provided !!

Thank you for being so supportive😀

Swimsuits For All sells all kinds of suits including swim tights and swim capris. I own the swim capris and wear them with a bikini top from Elomi.

OP, you don't need it to be an actual bathing suit. Not if you don't want it to be. I'm your age. I'm much more comfortable in swim capris, any capris length parachute-like material pant and a T shirt (also called a rash guard if you get one specifically for swimming). More coverage, more modest. Why do women have to expose so much more of their bodies than men? Women's bathing suits are so much more revealing. I mean you can if you want to. But don't have to.

I can't imagine how capris would be comfortable - all that loose wet fabric would drive me crazy. I find the same thing with skirted suits.

How do you conclude that women expose so much more? I think that's true of women wearing bikinis, but a one piece for women doesn't expose any more than swim trunks on a man - a woman's top is covered but there is leg exposure, while a man has legs partially covered but entire torso bare.

I wear suits made for swimming laps. I bought some, to swim laps, and realized I felt better in them than trying to squeeze my older, fatter body into a tanking that never fit all over. The racing suits mold to whatever you got. And there is no fear about body parts popping out. I like the brand TYR, because they have some stretch. Do I look great? No. But I have no qualms about wearing a suit in public. It might be worth trying.

I basically wear a burkini because although I’m only 47, I’m super pale, have had skin cancer twice, and am allergic to most sunscreen. I can wear the zinc kind but find it rubs off on everything. So I wear the skirted capri swim tights from lands end with a tankini top and rash guard. And visor. And then I only need sunscreen on my face and fore arms. It’s not the cutest look but I don’t want skin cancer again. And I don’t want to leave my white residue everywhere from zinc oxide all over my legs.

Just grab mens trunks in bright colors then get a shirt made of the same material. Works all the time

What do people do for lift? I'm a D cup and need Miraclesuit underwire but have to replace every year because the material of the suit deteriorates so quickly.

One more Lands End vote here! I wouldn’t wear any of their regular clothes, just not my style, but I love the swimsuits.

I’m 5’4” and size 10 with a lot of weight in my middle, and I find tankinis are not a good look on me because the bottoms roll down, and the tops creep up, and my belly fat shows (they are easier to wear than a one piece when you need the bathroom, though!). I prefer one piece suits with a lot of ruching, and thicker arms/straps so pinches of fat aren’t so obvious.

Here’s an example of a swimsuit style I like, and so many brands make a version of it: https://www.bloomingdales.com/shop/product/lauren-ralph-lauren-beach-club-ruffled-one-piece-swimsuit?ID=3924703&pla_country=US&cm_mmc=Google-PLA-ADC-_-GS_Local+Only-_-All+Products-_-195576000629-_-go_cmp-325403191_adg-23120909431_ad-80153669791_pla-429517230383_dev-m_ext-_prd-195576000629&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD0PCJR6D0OFWQd90Ctiel4BcsCXb&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIx6D5tI20hQMVak1HAR3c6QmKEAQYBCABEgLXn_D_BwE

Also, I have a loose cotton voile cover up with sleeves that comes to about mid thigh, and I wear it over my swimsuit at all times except when I am getting in the water.

22:40 again. I also like Lands End’s swimshorts, and loose rash guard tshirts. I often wear a tank suit, and then pull those 2 items over the tank suit, and I can take off either or both or leave them on when I choose to swim.
