You can't imagine why someone would be asleep at 8am on a Monday? Wow.

DP here. Its pretty unusual on a workday for someone with children. No need for the "wow."

Our garbage collected comes at 6am Mondays and Thursdays and makes all kinds of noise. I've asked repeatedly for them to wait until 7am but they don't care. Our HOA hires them or I'd switch companies.

To answer the OP, no I wouldn't answer the door. I'm packing lunches and finishing breakfast. Ain't nobody got time for that.

No - it is always someone asking for money through one scam or another. I only answer if it is ups, usps or an appointment

Honestly being asleep at 8am on a Monday is the ultimate flex.

+1. Do you not have kids?

Newsflash, Einstein: not everyone has kids.

This is DCUM Einstein. Most people in fact DO have kids here. It's in the freaking name.

I wouldn’t open it for anyone, anytime.

My sister and brother-in-law when they lived in an apt in Queens heard banging on the apt doors late at night. My sister and nephew went into bedroom when the banging happened on his door, a women yelling help me.

My brother looked through peephole and at that moment women got shot in back by estranged boyfriend.

He called 911 to get dead body move.

You would ring someone's doorbell at 8am?

I’ve ring doorbells at 2am when my car broke down driving between home and college.

But you wouldn’t do this in the age of smartphones.

Because smartphones never run out of battery 🪫 life?

Only if youre an idiot

Okay Mrs. Perfect!

I don’t get up until 8:30. Empty nest. It’s terrific!

My dog trying to chew through the door would’ve sent them right on their way.

Anonymous wrote:I thought everyone had Ring or equivalent doorbell these days...simple you can talk to them via the camera and ask what they want without opening the door. Even if you aren't home you can talk to people at your door.

NP. I don't have any doorbell at all.

I agree. I can think of a lot of legitimate reasons for doing this, nearly all of which involve an emergency and a dead or forgotten phone.

Guess what? Not everyone on DCUM has kids. Not everyone works days, some work nights. There’s a whole wide world out there.

News Flash:
Only stupid people open their doors to complete strangers, at least in this area.
