Had 2 strangers ringing the doorbell at 8am this morning and they woke us up. Why would random strangers do that at 8am? I peeked through the window upstairs and didn't open the door. Would you have opened the door at that time if you just woke up? |
no |
Nope. |
Don’t open the door for anyone you don’t know. |
No never. |
Why were you asleep at 8am on a Monday? Don't you ... have things to do? No - don't open the door. But keep an eye out in case they come back so you know if they're casing the neighborhood. |
Would not open. I'd be awake at 8 but I still wouldn't open the door for anything but a delivery. |
You can't imagine why someone would be asleep at 8am on a Monday? Wow. |
Water/gas workers warning you that between X an Y hours your water/gas will be shut off? But usually they leave a leaflet on your door.

Try using your imagination; I'm sure if you try really hard, you can come up with some reasons. ![]() |
Monday morning blues. Couldn't wake up before 8 even with the alarm. The doorbell woke me up. They rang twice a few minutes apart. One was dressed like he was going to an office and the other one was dressed casual. The two people were standing near a truck opposite our house 10 minutes later when I peeked again to see if they were gone. 20 minutes later truck was gone. |
That was the first thing I checked for when I opened the door. No leaflet from anyone selling anything or from county services. |
Who cares, you didn’t answer, they’re gone. It was probably a church or a sales call. If it’s important and legit, they’ll get back to you some other way. |
I do not like to pretend I am not home. So, in cases like this, I yell thru the door and ask them what they want. |
+1. Do you not have kids? |
