13 or 14 ok?

We don’t allow our kids to watch trash, so no.
Your kids are only allowed to watch movies that you enjoy?

Now how did you get that from my post? I sad we don’t allow our kids to watch trash. Cocaine Bear is trash. Just the name alone is a clue.

The Princess Bride is also trash and lots of parents have let their kids watch that trash. Why even enter a thread just to bash a movie you won’t see.

I took my 9 and 12 year old to see it last night. It's semi funny. Lots of gore but pretty fake looking gore. Lots of cursing. We don't really care about that in our house. The kids know they are not allowed to curse, do cocaine, or rip people's arms and legs off. Pretty good escapism overall

Sounds Sharknado like

Just watched the trailer.

Why on earth did Keri Russell make this movie? I mean, she’s no Meryl Streep, but you’d think she have better options following the success of The Americans.

I can give you two million reasons.

You don’t understand what trash is.

Anonymous wrote:A fun movie? Ok, maybe, but.....this from Common Sense Media:

Parents need to know that Cocaine Bear is director Elizabeth Banks' graphic action-comedy based on a real 1985 event in which a 175-pound black bear ingested 75 pounds of cocaine that had been dumped from an airplane. It's very mature: Expect strong drug content, incessant swearing ("f--k," "s--t," "ass," "motherf----r," and much more), and relentlessly gory violence. The bear mauls and dismembers people, and there are explicit images of several severed limbs, as well as a decapitated head. People also die via gunshot (including a close-up of the blood splatter and gore) and from a car accident, but most of the many casualties are courtesy of the bear. There's also cigarette smoking, kissing, and a couple of suggestive comments. Spoiler: Although children are injured (and also try the cocaine they find), they both survive. The movie stars Keri Russell and O'Shea Jackson and features the final on-screen performance of the late Ray Liotta.

OMG clearly this isn't a kids movie. Why the need to check CSM.

I just googled the name of the movie to see what reviews were saying and got that. Just didn't really sound much like a "fun move" to me, it sounded like something I as an adult would avoid despite loving Ray Liotta.

Maybe you are a little uptight? It is supposed to be over the top crazy fun- not to be taken seriously.

If not wanting to see severed limbs, close ups of blood spatter and gore, mauling and dismemberment, and decapitated heads makes me a "little uptight" then yes I definitely am.

At least you own it.

Np Count me in on "team uptight" Whooo hoo. If I want to be depressed I know where to look at it isn't at my entertainment.

Thanks OP, DH and I will check it out this weekend.

Are you the hall monitor? Last time we checked we don't all have to agree but, we are allowed our own opinions. Why do you care what we think? How does it threaten you?

Then you as an adult should avoid it. The OP can still post her opinion that it's a fun movie. Since you haven't even seen it - me either, truthfully and I doubt I will - why do you even need to comment?

So the OP can post her opinion and that's ok with you but if I look up the movie on google and find info that makes me want to avoid it and also makes me wonder why anyone would think it was "fun" I am not supposed to comment because your opinion and OP's opinion are allowed but mine is not, right?

I'm pretty sure you are totally and completely confused about how this forum and basically any forum on the internet works, regarding opinions that is.

You do know how forums work? You know you don’t have to comment on every post don’t you?

I am sure you are glad this forum is anonymous. Sorry you lead such a miserable life that you feel you need to wee wee in someone’s cornflakes and trash a movie they found fun. It also shows how much of a follower you are when you are led by other people’s opinions. Know what? I won’t bother commenting on your opinions anymore because that is why drives trolls crazy. And that is exactly what you are doing.

I have been on forums for a long time and recognize the fun sucker you are.

Be well.

Lots of other commenters have agreed that the movie sounds awful and they don't want to see it. But hey, you just keep attacking me as if you were the comment monitor. That makes sense. Disagreement about a movie does not constitute trolling, but attacking people for their opinions does.

My kids and I saw it yesterday and it was fabulous!

I saw it this past weekend with my 16 & 17 year old kids. We all loved it and thought it was funny.

Literally cannot WAIT to see this! Everyone says a true callback to ridiculous 80s slashers. A good 'bad' movie that knows exactly how silly and crazy it is and leans into it and doesn't take itself too seriously.

Agree I don't know what's up with this thread, I think anyone that goes into 'Cocaine Bear' and is shocked by what they find isn't as erudite as they think they are hahaha
