Exceptionalism and Merit seem to be his focus, and I will gladly applaud his efforts. Chances are no one else will.

I would if merit were real, but it isn't. Merit means everyone gets the same chance and opportunity to compete, which they don't. Merit means there is no more legacy or athletics special treatment. America thrives on special treatment and calls it merit.

In America, "having merit" and being a "self-made millionaire" means having a multi-million dollar real estate empire handed to you by your daddy - right Donald Trump?
In America, "having merit" means being "self made" thanks to the wealth of your daddy's emerald empire, buying companies started by visionaries and pretending to be the visionary, yourself - right, Elon Musk?

People need to try harder.

Interesting? What should we know about how their background informs their world view?

Why are Democrats intent on putting people into nice, neat little boxes based on race/gender/sexuality? These three people are Americans. I seriously doubt any of them define themselves by their ethnicity.

Ehhh that "American Dream" thing is an old trope that died in the 1980s. Today you can work your ass off and still never become a multimillionaire. Most of today's wealthy in America got that way because they started out rich, had the right connections, got "struck by lightning" level lucky and so on. Or you can exploit people, scam and grift your way into wealth, whether big pharma or other schemes - but actual self-made, honest wealth these days in America is damn rare and the "American Dream" thing has a lot of illusory elements to it. A lot of Indian immigrants to America are still figuring that out.

Maybe, maybe not. I DO know that many others will define them by their ethnicity— particularly the majority white Republicans. Prove me wrong. I’d be delighted.

Republicans as a whole are sick to death of the categorizing and sorting done by Democrats, and that's a fact.

LMAO you don't think Republicans categorize and sort? Trump did it all the time, nonstop. Far worse than any Democrat I know.

I am not OP but yes I am defined my my ethnicity very much (it defined where and around whom I grew up so…)

I am a clueless person, could you tell me a little more?

I can't imagine the OP is conservative. This comes from the earnest, woke place of "I'm here to listen and learn."

But it actually sounds tone deaf. No one is starting a thread asking white people how they feel about whites on the ballot. But when it's a minority who dares to identify as conservative, it's open season and totally fine to belittle people based on ethnicity.

I don’t think much of them, Nikki Haley is a consummate politician and that’s her only achievement.

Ramaswamy talks out of both sides of his mouth and cannot be trusted. I am not impressed at all.

Kamala Harris - Never liked her.

None of these people exhibit any special statesmen like qualities, run of the mill politicians, but then again that’s true for the entire field. Totally disappointed in 2024 lineup.

Ignore pp, it’s some inter-ethnic battles that would go over your head

The analogy would be how Massachusetts/New England people view southerners and vice versa

I like him too, PP.

-- a former Trump voter

I follow him on Twitter, and I used to like him. I like how he urges organizations to move away from DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion) to EOC (excellence, opportunity, civility). But lately, he seemed to try to appeal to the Trump crowd (e.g. everything Biden does is evil). And I will never vote for someone for President with no political or military experience.

Does the 9/11 truthing not bother you? Or the patently unconstitutional proposals regarding voting? And it's fascinating that people buy this outsider stuff. Harvard and Yale. Just a common man like everyone else.

What a joke.

Never vote for racists. Indians are the most racist group in America

Ever see an African American at the Indian companies? Never will
