My mother chases the deals. You can get 4 six packs of 20 oz bottles for $11 at Food Lion.

Nope. Tax cars and cell phones at a higher rate. Much bigger problem for public health than soda.

Yeah, 3 liters of soda a day is excessive. I drink soda and always regular (hate diet) so I am not judging soda but that's a LOT. I might have a few cans a week and I'm trying to cut back on that.

Has anyone noticed the cans now say “original taste” instead of “coke classic?” I think they changed the recipe again. I know I sound like a conspiracy nut but I can’t believe no one else is talking about it.

Harris Teeter $6.79
Target $7.19
Wegmans $7.99
Giant $9.99
7-11 $8.49

These prices are for 12-packs. Google is free.

I don't buy sodas but I saw that Target was pushing a 3/$15 promo around the Super Bowl. That's when I first realized how expensive soda had gotten.

The supermarkets where we shop (mostly Wegman's & Harris Teeter) used to have sales occasionally where a 12 pack would come to about $4, if you bought three or four. That hasn't happened in a couple of years.

Even the case of Diet Coke at Costco is about the same price per can as a 12 pack from Wegman's. I can't think Coca Cola's costs have gone up that much.

Safeway has a buy 2 get 2 free about every other week.
