Exactly. Coke is garbage. |
The supermarkets where we shop (mostly Wegman's & Harris Teeter) used to have sales occasionally where a 12 pack would come to about $4, if you bought three or four. That hasn't happened in a couple of years. Even the case of Diet Coke at Costco is about the same price per can as a 12 pack from Wegman's. I can't think Coca Cola's costs have gone up that much. |
Why not? People will apparently pay that much for this garbage. Why not bottle it, can it and sell it at a high price to those willing to pay for a sugar/chemical bomb? And I say this as someone who occasionally does drink soda. When will consumers recognize and take responsibility for the role they play in inflation and price gouging? If enough people refuse to pay absurd prices for non-necessities like Coke, the prices will go down. |
| Soda should be taxed at a higher rate to subsidize health insurance. |
| Or they will have buy 2 get 2 sales. I don’t need 48 cans! I admit that I buy the mini cans once in a while, which are the worst deal of all. But it’s just the right amount. I drink a full sugar coke or Pepsi about once a week, and I will finish it if I have a larger can or bottle. |
Right...no one should ever be paying full price if you buy regularly. I keep seeing buy 2 get 2 free . They must sell more that way. Like Thomas's English muffins had buy 1 get 2 free never buy them otherwise. |
This topic is not for you, judgey McJudgerson. |

OP here. I buy six packs of half liters but I probably drink 3 liters a day. The store had 4 for $12 Dr. pepper and Pepsi, while the coke products were 4 for $15.
I don’t drink diet anything but fully leaded sodas. |
At teeter you don't have to buy four. The item will ring at 1/2 price on BOGO sales. |
Wow that is a LOT of sugar. |
| One reason I can think of that coke and other sodas have gone up so much is the cost of aluminum has gone up so they are passing that on to their consumers. The risk these large corporations run is that people will vote with their wallets and not buy coke or buy something similar but less expensive. |
Your pancreas will rebell |
| I see the food police are out in force, tsk-tsking those who dare to enjoy a soft drink on occasion, or every day, as if it were any of their business. |
