To ask if you agree with this about my daughter?

Anonymous
Has she ever seen a psychologist or psychiatrist? I would start there before asking strangers on the internet.

Yes, that or another trauma event as a child if the "odd accent" is like a little girl or Minnie Mouse voice.

She just sounds introverted to me and maybe lacking purpose.

Didn't you post this last year? In that post, I seem to remember people feeling that living with ulcerative colitis was a real challenge and that you should be happy that she is able to work at all.

OP, are you asking about your daughter, or are you really talking about your own situation?

This was my thought, too.

Same that was my first thought too. The younger voice and acting younger. I'd wonder if something happened in college.

Some of you people have clearly never had to parent a child with serious medical issues that may well impact them socially. I won’t comment on possible autism, but don’t underestimate the impact of these autoimmune diseases on “normal” adult milestones. Consider the amount of doctor appointments and overall trauma this parent has had to help her daughter navigate. Show a little empathy.

OP, did you start this other thread as well?

Do you know any women who successfully started the whole “marriage and kids” thing at 40+?

That can be socially isolating. And a psychiatrist to check for social anxiety and possible medications if that’s keeping her from achieving some goals she’d like to acheive in her life.

Yes and yes. CBT with a psychologist can be very helpful.

I'm thinking English is not OP's first language. The wording seems a little off throughout the entire post.
