Do you know any women who successfully started the whole “marriage and kids” thing at 40+?

Meaning, not dating much until then.

Yes. One of my closest friends got married at 45 and had her first child at 50. She’s incredibly happy. It does happen. I’ve seen it happen.

A few coworkers got married at 41 or 42 and then quickly had a couple babies back to back. They seem tired, but happy.

Sure! I don't know how much they've dated, but a friend got married at 40 and had her kids at 42 and 44. I have another friend who got married at 39 and had one kid at 41 and another at 45. I'm sure I have other friends like this.

Yes one, after a painful divorce, but also a few who decided to go the sperm donor route when mr right never appeared. They are all happily exhausted and glad they took the plunge.

OP, if they are approaching 40 -- say, 37 years old or so -- and have not had much experience dating but want to make this happen, and especially if they have chronic health issues or other complicating factors, then now would be a good time to get a professional evaluation and help with moving forward.

Situations don't often change that much on their own. Not situations like this. There is help available, and people can develop new skills.

When the latest you can freeze your eggs?

Yes, a neighbor parent got married and had kids around 40. She was a nun for many years but quit. She married a very shy man who was never married. Probably met at church or through a church group.

When you personally can no longer produce enough viable eggs. Wide range. Some women can’t in their late 20s.

A friend of mine froze hers at 40, and apparently she had a large reserve. Everyone is different.
