Funny, I was just thinking that everything but the hours describes our nanny’s role. She would not agree to working that late every day because she has a MSer. And plus, I want to spend the evenings with my kids.

“Seeking a Housekeeper/Nanny to provide household help and after school care for our 8-year-old girl/boy twins…35 hours a week…
The person would: Wash/put away clothes; Organize closets/cabinets; Organize kids' belongings throughout home; Vacuum; light cleaning; Prep for kids' lunches and occasional meal prep; Maintain shopping lists for grocery, house and school items; Help with school pick up and driving to/from activities; Unpack from school day/pack for next day; Watch kids after school; supervise homework and showers; Help with errands

Must be experienced driver with clean driving record + ideally a car. Pay though payroll service. Looking for Mon-Fri 11-6 or 12-7. Will do more/fewer hours/be flexible on days for the right person who really loves to organize and enjoys elementary school aged kids.”

Doable as long as you start the housekeeper at $35 hourly plus benefits otherwise good like finding reliable care!

I pay my cleaning person $50/hr and she is usually here close to four hours every two weeks. Nannies for three kids should be getting a minimum of $30 an hour. Approximately three hours ($90/day) nanny duties and four hours cleaning, cooking, etc., ($200/day). $300/day for 5 days = $1500.00/week.

If I could offload some of this stuff, I’m sure I’d be better at my job & better at being a kind mom/wife/friend…like one who is better at playing board games & bonding stuff after dinner, rather than overtired cranky mom who is annoyed that she is washing applesauce out of someone’s backpack.

Your number one priority should be your children. Why have them if you don't give a flying flip about them.

So “seeking a serf.” Got it.

Whether it's funny depends on how much they're paying. What did they offer as the rate OP? If it's less than $40 they are delusional.

This. That’s two jobs.

No, 99% of the cheap people making postings like this person can’t afford it, and want to pay $20-$25. Hysterical!

They want a servant. Nannies generally aren't expected to clean, organize, or cook except making lunch. Just expected to minimally pick up after kids throughout the day

Half the working day is during school. That’s why it’s half housekeeper half nanny.

I pay $225 just for 2 people to clean my home for 3 hours. So roughly $37/hour. I guess if they are willing to pay that rate for a maid/personal assistant, like $5200/month, ok.

Try turning your brain on. If I offered to pay you a full time job vs a 3 hour a week job, where you needed to stitch that together with many more 3 hour a week jobs involving travel all around the area, would you be willing to take lower pay for those reliable hours, lack of commute time, and not needing to replace clients as they drop out?

NO. You use you brain. If I charge $37/hr, I charge the same whether it is for one person working 40 hours or for a different person every day. Lawyers and doctors charge the same fee whether they see one client/patient or 20 every day.

Exactly. Not sure why this family should pay someone to sit around waiting for the kids to come home without performing some household tasks.

Your office is paying you to post on DCUM.

What exactly is wrong with that post? t's a job.

For those who compare it with cleaning services- your cleaning service is cleaning the bathrooms, sweeping, dusting. This is a much lighter job

Would your life be so much easier with the pay associated with that kind of job?
