I did not enjoy this book.

New poster but it’s got a 4.22 rating on good reads. Clearly many did

I was going to try Book Lovers since I recently read People We Meet on Vacation and enjoyed it. Not my usual genre, but it was a good read while I had covid. Would have been better on a beach.

I usually see this genre called "romcom" now ...

Emily Henry - Book Lovers is my favorite of hers, but I've liked all of them.

Trish Dollar - loved all of them, start with Float Plan

Rachel Lynn Solomon - all are excellent

Katherine Center - the bodyguard one was my favorite

The movie is already made.

It’s a tv series.

Loved The Bodyguard - preferred it over Lessons in Chemistry personally.

I think this is why the term "chick lit" has fallen by the wayside. These books are definitely not the same genre, they both happen to be written by women but that's it.

Go away, grammar police. We got it

It’s spelling, not grammar.

I've read most of Katherine Center's books, but "Happiness for Beginners" was probably my favorite of hers. Elin Hildebrand and Emily Henry are both great. Honestly,

If you want something funny, Jen Lancaster writes autobiographical books and they're quite amusing

I am reading Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez right now - I think it's cute! I like it so far. I'm about 70% done.

I never would have defined chick lit as romcom. Some romcom may also be chick lit, but the two are not synonomous.

Regardless of the label, OP wanted some light reads.

That we can work with and have!

While dealing with heavy issues (loss of a child, divorce, depression), this book also has a lot of feelings and heated bedroom scenes--

Before I Let Go by Kennedy Ryan

It's definitely not for everyone if you have one of those triggers, but I personally could not put it down.
