| Technically Wash U and Emory are higher ranked than Tulane, but I suspect outcomes are similar at all and the students at Tulane probably have a more enjoyable college experience. People on dcum are ranking obsessed. Most people and employers in the real world are not. |
| Tulane by far. It’s the hardest to get into because it’s a desirable location and a desirable experience. It’s also a phenomenal school. |
| Having recently visited New Orleans, I cannot imagine sending one of my children to Tulane over Emory or Wash U (or even at all, really). SO MUCH DEBUCHERY. |
I think some kids can handle it, mine could not. |
What? Tulane is the least prestigious by far of these 3. |
Lots of cocaine. That always means a no from me. |
https://provost.emory.edu/planning-administration/data/factbook/enrollment.html Google isn't accurate. The Factbook from their website says 36.7% or about 6000 white students. |
Prestige has an element of subjectiveness about it. In the old money South, Tulane is definitely prestigious. Just because you don’t agree doesn’t make it untrue. |

MO has some of the most restrictive laws right now.
And they are now debating on the ankle monitoring and bounty hunting of women. It will pass. There is no way anyone should be sending a kid to Wash U right now. Poo poo this all you want think I am crazy sure go ahead. I am not wrong. MO just passed clothing requirements for it's house of reps if you think they are stopping there you are not paying attention. Josh Hawley wants women in his state to stay home be barefoot and pregnant. If they vote him in again yeah MO is screwed. |
Emory and WashU have much longer older money, koch bothers for WashU. Woodruff and Barcardi's for Emory. |
| OP never said what major they are looking at. OP depending on major, I'd have your kid pick one and apply ED. |
You misspelled fun [prestigious]. |
| Tulane is a good safety for kids aiming for WashU or Emory. Tulane usually accepts those kids EA and offers. The education is great at all 3 but in terms of selectivity, Tulane is a lower level. Vanderbilt is more like WashU or Emory. |
That isn’t necessarily true, Tulane practices pretty aggressive yield protection at our private for high stats kids. It doesn’t want to be a safety. |
