In Brown’s carjacking, two of the 18-year-olds received a 15-year sentence, all of which was suspended,

For all the people insisting that progressive/soft on crime policies are not a problem: the people convicted of this carjacking received a suspended sentence. That is appalling, and what it is teaching the young people committing crime is that they will get slaps on the wrists because brain development or something.

Hell no.

MD over VA in a heartbeat.

Used to be VA was better for the number of colleges over MD

Now VA is a sinking ship and will be Alabama & MO unless you all wise up soon.

I ❤️ Alabama.

Thanks for the laugh.

No one who avoids "riffraff" by living in a gated community and sending children to provate school should be making any comments about crime.

Agree with this completely. After two armed robberies and many property thefts in my FC neighborhood, I finally sold me house and left. Loved my neighborhood, but saw the writing on the wall. I'm black for what it's worth and have two DC. Black people don't want this garbage either, so stopping making OP look and sound like a racist. Facts are fact, you cannot change that, and my personal experiences will dictate what is best for my family not the race bating people I hear from so often. I want safe schools, without fighting, first and foremost, and that means discipline. Sadly I'm finding discipline is not on the agenda in most DMV public schools these days, and private is not an option. I do the best I can and right now the best I can do is move further out, change jobs and create a better environment for my children.

No, it's cultural, you have to get it right. If you are a POC and under age, hell even if you're an adult, you get to walk with little or no sentence. Social justice my ass, you are destroying a law abiding community with this garbage, and guess who gets hurt the most? That's right, the poor and lower class people in these communities, as evidenced by Walmart announcing planned closures again this week. Why are they closing? Too much shoplifting from the community, and don't get me wrong, I'm not on Walmarts side in this, they created this with their full political support. But woke is not working and now the hardworking people in these communities will lose their grocery stores yet again, all because we need to revisit how we deal with culturally insensitive crime approaches. You can literally walk into stores and take a basket of stuff out, and in a lot of places if it's less than 1000.00 you won't get charged. Insanity.

Spillover from crime in DC and easy access via the metro.

That crime was on a county bus though. Then there’s stuff like this. Just ghetto.
