Not to burst your bubble but when my son was WL everywhere, we were told they over invite by quite a lot…
For PHS- SMCs basically does not move Humanities and Global generally have movement. On a positive note, my son was taken off the WL first round. |
Blair SMCS does not over admit. |
The only way that’s true is if no one turns them down. If they invite 120 and their are 100 seats, they assume 20 will turn them down. |

They said at the open house they had made around 100 offers for 100 places. |
| That may be good news for people on WL. DC personally knows 5 kids who turned it down. |

This thread made me think about how much better the process would be if MCPS took a note from DCPS and "matched" kids to their preferred program.
They could still let each school evaluate the applications, but if you "match" to your first choice, then BOOM, admitted. That would free up a spot immediately rather than putting the kids through this whole wait list, decision-making, process. |
