I’ve spent the last 3 hours cleaning out my fairly small bedroom closet. Filled one huge bag with a now empty jewelry box, cheap stud earrings, costume jewelry, small drawstring bags and a large purse.
Jewelry took the longest. I also look at my Christmas decor and anything that I’m now tired of, didn’t use or enjoy gets donated, too. |
| There's an app called Toss. It gives you one small organizing project a day. |

When I need to clean out closets/toys/etc. I set a greendrop pick up for a couple weeks ahead. And then I have no choice but to get it all ready.
Now that my kids are teens, we are much more successful at not accumulating so much stuff. Except clothes, which they outgrow so fast. Also, amazon absolutely cut down on my purchases. I used to shop in person at Target and I would always pick up some things I didn't need or buy something that wasn't exactly right. With amazon, there are zero impulse buys for me. I only buy things that I actually need. This was evident in our budget right away when we switched to amazon. |

This is OP, I did some!! Not enough. But some. I am finding that because my house is actually reasonably organized, this is considerably harder than when I first got my act together as a young adult used to high functioning hoarding. But I’ve made a start!
