Help! Husband wants “cool” shoes to wear with joggers

Anonymous
V pricey, but John Elliott, or their website as inspiration. Leather sneakers, something more structured than allbirds.

Anything either:
1. Retro (think sambas, adidas TRX, nike air max or vans)
or 2. the male equivalent of the basic white tennis shoe that see women everywhere wearing (https://www.veja-store.com/en_us/men)
or 3. if they prefer more of a running shoe look anything Bright colored- NB/adidas/ ON sneakers

Anonymous wrote:Your DH sounds like my DH. He really likes anything by Johnston and Murphy. For example:

DH tried these. He went back to Cole Haan Zerogrands because they had some that were more uniform without the two different materials/colors, still casual but a loose more sophisticated.

Not in my neighborhood.

Only if he's over 60

Lots of people in their 30s wear allbirds... I don't get this comment that they're for 60 +?

- a woman in her 30s who loves allbirds, so does my husband, and we have friends that love them too

Anonymous wrote:Hi all, my 53-year-old husband dresses in a suit and tie every day but needs some help dressing down. He has some joggers that he likes for casual wear but doesn’t like the look of running shoes so he’s asked me to consult the DCUM gurus for help with a show that looks okay with tapered joggers. I was thinking Allbirds or something but he doesn’t trust my judgement, lol. Any ideas?

Why can't he just go to a store and look at the shoes, try them on and then buy them. Sorry but, if my dh said " I don't trust your judgement" then my involvement would stop

DH wears his dunks, jordans, AF1s, or air maxes. But he is usually coaching kids sports in these outfits so needs something athletic.

West Coast chiming in. Allbirds were the thing pre-pandemic here, but now it’s just grandpas wearing them to school pickup to fetch their grandchildren and to the grocery store.

Good lord! NO!

Bah humbug to you too! New poster - I know a hot dad in my neighborhood who wears low profile shoes like the Mexico or the Feiyue classic. I know because I like low sneakers like classic Keds and I wanted a pair of Tigers, but then I didn’t get them because I thought it would be creepy and weird to get the same shoes as my kid’s friend’s dad.

I think it's far weirder that you didn't buy a pair of shoes because some random dad in your neighborhood also has them.
