Hey Glenn Youngkin, why am I still paying tax on groceries?

Given that precedent, the Democrats in the General Assembly likely won't give you a break on your groceries, either.

Go talk to the Democrats in the Virginia General Assembly. They are the ones who won't give you a break.

That’s like saying “why hasn’t Biden paid off my student loans yet?”

Youngkin has to work with the GA

Why can’t Youngkin work effectively with the GA? He is a moron. Loser governor. Failure.

Biden at least works with Congress to accomplish a lot.

He was able to get the GA to pass a ban on schools requiring masks.
The school districts were resisting thinking the Democrats would block Youngkin.

What are you doing in office besides posturing for the MAGA crowd, putting your feet in your mouth on the regular and fantasizing you can be president (hint: you can’t).

In exchange for the poor governance, crime, low performing schools, corruption, unhoused issues, and unsavory aspects of urban living for Northern Virginia, it normalizes you from what you fled.

So Youngkin gave up? Wow.

Doesn’t the Virginia assembly control taxation? Not the Governor’s office?

Not true. Democrats have been the ones for five years now attempting to cut the regressive grocery tax. Northam included it in his budget. I'm glad Glenn and the Republicans have finally come around. Democrats in 2022 repealed the state portion of the grocery tax effective January 1. The additional tax still incurred goes to local governments, and they rely on the revenue. Democrats want to end that tax but also want to make sure local governments have the revenue options to sustain themselves, so they are trying to work through other options to keep local revenue up when they finally end that additional grocery tax. Republicans are refusing to work together because they'd much rather just sit around and yell "Democrats are opposed to tax cuts," instead of actually working with Democrats to cut taxes.
