+1 also Franklin Montessori was pretty crunchy (though my experience is not recent).

A third vote for SFF! We are there and absolutely love it.

You are kidding right?

Ahhh so it’s a terrible school because it is a preschool that is too expensive for you and makes money. You’re a moron.

Nope. I worked there. The owners make a ton of money, and pay their teachers poorly.

No one is kidding, people did and do love SFF. Is it for everyone, nope. But also not everyone who applies is admitted. There's clearly someone on the board who doesn't like SFF and they keep posting the same downhill nonsense. There's actually been very limited teacher turnover since Jim retired. Some of the teachers have been there for decades. So, again, is SFF for everyone, nope, but it is relatively crunchy, a very happy environment for the kids, they get a ton of outdoor time, and it's conveniently located if you work in Dupont, along K St, NW, Farragut, Foggy Bottom, the World Bank.... They did maintain covid protocols and my hunch that is where some of this "downhill" disgruntlement is coming from, but who knows.

You don't like your pay as a preschool teacher so no one should send their kids there?

My kids have been out of preschool for a while now, but when we were considering the options I could never get over the fact that they left kids at the park (twice)

Also very crowded classrooms. It was before covid though.
