I second School for Friends. We're very happy with the school and appreciate the Quaker principles, and how play-based/outdoor focused it is.
A third vote for SFF! We are there and absolutely love it.
You are kidding right?
No one is kidding, people did and do love SFF. Is it for everyone, nope. But also not everyone who applies is admitted. There's clearly someone on the board who doesn't like SFF and they keep posting the same downhill nonsense. There's actually been very limited teacher turnover since Jim retired. Some of the teachers have been there for decades. So, again, is SFF for everyone, nope, but it is relatively crunchy, a very happy environment for the kids, they get a ton of outdoor time, and it's conveniently located if you work in Dupont, along K St, NW, Farragut, Foggy Bottom, the World Bank.... They did maintain covid protocols and my hunch that is where some of this "downhill" disgruntlement is coming from, but who knows.
