The current bivalent booster is pretty effective against current strains. It doesn't perfectly prevent transmission; but it does help keep dumbasses out of the hospital and prevent rationing of care.

dp.. there is no consensus on the efficacy of the boosters on the variants. It "kind of" works is the best we have, and even with that, the coverage lasts maybe 6 to 8 weeks. We'd have to get boosters every 3 months at this rate.

I just heard Fauci say that there's evidence the new boosters work very well. He is lying. There is NO evidence the new boosters work because the new boosters were not tested on humans.

There IS evidence and plenty of it that the original vaccines work well. Perhaps that's what Fauci meant to say (he didn't say that.)

We do not know how long immunity from the original vaccines lasts. I've heard immunologists say it may last a lifetime, and others say it's short-lived, but we can't be sure because of the complexity of the immune system.

One thing we do know is that covid vaccines do not prevent Omicron and its variants and the newer variants. All of us will get sick from Omicron and its heirs at one point or another, whether we're vaccinated and treble boosted.

I'm going to skip the latest booster because of what I just mentioned. Dr. Paul Offitt has said he sees little value medically in the booster shots after the initial two covid vaccines. I'm going with Paul.

However, I do not have any comorbidities, I've had Omicron, I'm healthy and young enough to not be at much risk of dying of covid.

All these people on here seem to enjoy saying that Republicans are voting against border security. Most of the Senate Republicans are against border security, they are just forced to pretend to keep their seats.

Beyond that, it is clear that Democrats don't care about border security, and this is just a talking point for you. Biden administration is pushing to get rid of the Remain in Mexico policy, and are now even running a program where they process these illegal immigrants before they get to the border, in Mexico City and elsewhere, and let them in at entry points with papers ready.

It's now late November- peak respiratory virus season- CDC website says only 11.3% of people age 5+ have gotten the new booster. I think it's safe to say the vast majority of people have moved on from these ineffective shots.

Biden and Democrats will negotiate ending the emergency in exchange for a few items being extended or made permanent legislatively in the same package. Senate Republicans may not accept that in the lame duck session and House Republicans won’t accept that in 2023.

This! SNAP recipients get the max allotment right now; people can’t be taken off state version of Medicaid in my state even if they aren’t eligible anymore
