Vaping in Williamsburg bathrooms?

Projecting much? I went back and read all the responses. No one said it's not happening at Swanson or Hamm. The responses were my kid hasn't seen it but who knows.

People with children who have seen the vaping at other middle schools, can you please get on here and respond? It's unacceptable that Williamsburg is being singled out! You are so snooty for not coming forward!

6th.

I was asking because not sure if everyone is aware, but there are certain bathrooms that certain grades use more frequently, eg eighth graders use due to proximity to their classrooms versus seventh versus six, etc. Of course everyone uses the locker room. But if this is something going on, specifically in the six grade hallway, I would certainly mention it to the assistant principal/counselor.

+1. That said, my 8th grader said he’s never encountered anyone vaping in the bathrooms. He’s seen kids using their phones in the bathrooms, but not vaping.

Yeah, the vaping happens at the Yorktown fields.

My kid is in 6th at Williamsburg. Said he’s never used the bathroom ever. From what I’ve seen, the bathrooms are tiny and original to the school. Maybe 60 years old and the doors are open. Does baking smell? I can’t imagine a big group of kids in there doing this unnoticed.

You’re name-calling an 11/12 year old kid?

She is and she’s the same “cool mom” who will be serving our kids alcohol in 9th grade.

This thread is about MIDDLE SCHOOL.

My sixth grader said he has never seen it at Williamsburg. He also seems rather separated from 7th/ 8th graders during the school day. I was worried about the large range of ages being thrown together but I have been really impressed by how the school has approached the younger grade!

My 7th grader hasn’t seen any vaping.

FCPS lurker here. Vaping is a regular activity at Longfellow.

I agree - they do a good job with this and the Vice Principals are often seen in the halls by the kids so they get to know them (in a positive way). Very impressed with the 6th grade VP so far.

My 6th and 8th say the bathrooms are for phones/tiktok not vaping

I'm surprised this thread hasn't been deleted. Clearly a Yorktown parent didn't like the thread about the boorish YHS kids at basketball games and got that deleted.

if accurate, yet another reason to bail on APS.
