Worried about using UBER to airport!

Anonymous
This is a big concern of DH's. If I get excited about our trip in the taxi he GLARES until I shut up. I think it's nuts. And no, our house has never been robbed.

Omg. Who robbed the McAllisters house? Was it the van driver that picked up their entire extended rich family that was clearly leaving the country for a holiday retreat? No! It was the Wet Bandits who had already been casing the joint in advance. There, I just gave you something different to worry about.

We use our address but stand in front of neighbor's home. I start thinking what if they robbed neighbor's house? Then remember they will see our neighbors are home and all homes in our area are very close to each other.

This is not a rational fear or a healthy level of anxiety

We do this but not even on purpose. We're in a townhouse community and for whatever reason our address defaults to the neighbors' address. Used to annoy me but I guess it does have this one benefit.

It's unlikely, but still a possibility.

It’s also a possibility that the plane will crash.

Some of you seem to like to look for things to worry about. Maybe travel isn’t in the cards for you right now.

Could I convince you to fly on a 737MAX? Only 2 crashed.

I probably have and would never have known. But I like living on the edge.

There are 581 active 737MAXs in circulation. Literally thousand of people fly on them every day without even thinking about it.

No joke by far the highest likelihood of a safety issue is the Uber ride to the airport.

"I thought this would be about worrying about reliability of getting there on time with no guarantee of getting your ride picked up, which is a legitimate concern. You’re just nuts."

I thought the same thing! I never feel comfortable depending on some rando to give me a ride at 4:30 am.

The Uber/Lyft drivers in our area tend to be more questionable folks in interesting vehicles, so I get it. For this reason I too feel nervous leaving in a ride share.

What are "questionable folks in interesting vehicles"? I believe they cannot drive for Uber if they don't have proper licenses, car registrations, and insurance. Please name an "interesting vehicle".

OP what's your address, I'll keep an eye on the house for you.
