Worried about using UBER to airport!

Leaving the country for two weeks. I’m irrationally mistrusting of having some stranger know we are packing up and leaving, with lots of bags, for an unknown amount of time.
Nobody we know well enough to ask to take us as we are leaving mid-day during a week day. I wouldn’t ask a friend to do this and have to figure out work arrangements. This is our burden. An UBER would be around $40 plus tip. A reputable car service, $95 plus tip. We would Uber back home for the same $40 plus tip mentioned above. Secure parking would only be $200 total. Are we being completely ridiculous? I’m so fearful of being across the globe and our house being broken into because we foolishly and willingly let someone in on the fact that our house would be empty. Does anyone else share this fear? |

| I’ve never thought of that. We always take Uber to airport. I guess there’s the risk but I’ll continue to take Uber anyway. |

| Say very loudly in the Uber to your husband, “it’s so great that your cousin and his wife are coming to stay at our house the entire time that we are gone and take care of our pets”. |

| The Uber/Lyft drivers in our area tend to be more questionable folks in interesting vehicles, so I get it. For this reason I too feel nervous leaving in a ride share. |

| The driver has no idea that's your house. You could be leaving to go home after a visit with family or something. |

+1 Also, on that point, we schedule a regular taxi, especially for early morning flights. |

This has never crossed my mind.
I agree if you really think this, talk in the car about how you have a house sitter. I don't know why a more high end car service would be any different if you're worried about it. |
