Don’t be so gloomy, especially when you are picking up your child.

How do you know this is her face when she sees her child? I know of no mom who looks annoyed when getting a child from the bus. Unless the guy is standing at the bus stop, this comment is weird.

You know, not everyone choose to erase their face with Botox. I am guessing OP has prominent 11s that make her look like she is scowling. Either that or she is a harried Mom rushing to be in time for pick-up. Regardless, the comment is weird and inappropriate.

Op here. I am always rushing. Most of the time, I leave the toddler upstairs because he's napping, and it probably takes me an hour to get him to sleep. I'm beat from taking care of him. When I get a "break" 10-30 minutes later it's take to pick up the other one from the bus stop. The doorman says weird stuff to everyone. It's not just me.

Have fun with it for the next 49 days. He enjoys getting you ruffled. Stop reacting the way he enjoys. At the next rude comment tomorrow smile and say 48! and keep moving. Keep the count down going.

Be warned, though, many doormen can sense you are a Nobody regardless of how you dress and act.

I know it's doorman's way to insult OP and get some head. OP has to do that to avoid feeling bad from this doorman. Time to drop on your knees, OP.

This, Op.

He probably knows that you know that he is cheating on his wife.

Maybe someone told him that you are privy to this piece of info so his behavior could be passive-aggressive.

Op here. That's true. Many people know because he's so obvious about it. One day she was sitting on his lap in the lobby.

Wasn’t this a Seinfeld episode?

Are the tenets rude and hostile to him? Maybe he just doesn’t care anymore. Don’t take it personally.

sure that is rude
lighten up and start saying things back to him —
have fun with it. Do it with a neutral face
Why does your hat look like that ?
Why do your pant cuffs look like that?

Just vague and friendly— nothing meaningful.

—you’ll may love it. Try it out. Every time I respond I feel 100 times better.

I think this won't work. If Op had the guts to say all this then do you think she would be here asking for help?
I think OP would be falling for him and would find that sleeping with him is the only way to get him off her back. Go for it, OP. You might as well have some fun.

Op here hahaha this is good! Some people are definitely rude here but not so much to him. They are intimidated by him for sure.

I mean I did say something back to him when he asked me why my face looks like that. I said my face looks like that because that's how my face looks, and he needs to deal.

The key to all of this is that OP says he knows he won't get fired. Maybe he knows that the owner is cheating on his wife, or the property manager is embezzling money. So he can act like as big a jerk as he wants. OP's recourse is to move. Which she is doing. Some of the tenants are probably locked in with rent control handcuffs.
