Clothes for High School Teen Boy

While some of the girls may not admire the hoodie/jogger style, it doesn't seem to make the boys any less attractive to them. I've got girls and boys. The girls will admire the style of a boy that thrifts non-hoodie/jogger clothes but if the boy's style is standard, they're not turning away.

I would be careful with band logos- it needs to be an actual concert t shirt and he needs to be a fan. Picking up a band tee at Hollister or Target not as cool. I think keeping to darker, more neutral colors is the way to go. Avoid being too match-y and generally avoid tucking in shirts.

Here are my tips: Take them to a thrift store to look for old hoodies and tees. You might even score some vintage classic work pants like Dickies. Wider leg jeans are in. Avoid logos! Vans are cool, but people who actually skate might give them a hard time for being posers. Since they are such an easy shoe to wear that isn't a straight up athletic shoe, I think the risk of being called out is worth it. Buy clothing made from natural fabrics as much as possible. The idea is to have the clothing look well-worn and the lower quality stuff doesn't wear as well after several washes. If you're scrawny, layering with different tees helps give you some upper-body bulk and it keeps you warm in the winter. I agree that the two photos posted on 11/11 are a good look to emulate for someone who doesn't know what he's doing. Keep it simple like that. You can substitute a slim leg jean, even a black pair, for the joggers. Note that the joggers to wear out are not plain sweatpants. They have a different cut and pockets.

Avoid things like those super floppy synthetic fabric shorts, unless you're actually an athlete on your way to work out. Wimpy non-athletes look silly dressed like athletes. It's like an overweight mom walking around in gym wear. In other words, if it's very obvious that you're not an athlete, don't dress like one. This is why the Vans come in handy because they make the outfit look less like it's for the gym.

Hair/grooming -- Do NOT have a barber cut using a razor these days unless it's pretty much a complete buzz cut like a rock star. https://www.americansalon.com/hair/how-gossip-girl-star-evan-mocks-pink-buzz-cut The default for teen boys who aren't good at styling is longish hair that is kept clean and shiny. Do NOT ever go a day without showering and washing the hair if they work out and get sweaty. The shaved looks require too much work for kids that aren't willing. https://coolmenshair.com/teen-boy-long-haircuts/ Just avoid anything that is spiky looking these days as that is apparently very out of style, as is anything that looks wet.
