? No, it’s a story about one incident.

I find this attitude so strange. Rapists also use cars and roads, of course hut no one complains about those.

I mean thousands of people take the metro to their jobs every day.

My guess is that a majority of criminals use cars, but OP's not complaining that roads are "the crime expressway."

Marylanders drive to Virginia and commit crimes all the time. This proves that expressways are the crime expressway to Virginia.

We must ban cars! We have to blow up the WW bridge! We need to tear down Shirley highway!

Yeah, the TripAdvisor reviews of the hotel mention lots of prostitution and drug activity. Don't think you can blame Metro for bringing the crime

Yes, that's called a spurious correlation.

Is the silver line also causing the increase in crime in every other major city in the United States?

Tyson’s has been a prostitution hub for decades.

I know the local police consider the metro opening up nearby will bring an increase of drugs and crime.

I don’t understand why people think this man should be jailed until trial, instead of just released on his own recognizance? He’s innocent until proven guilty, you must agree.

What is accomplished by jailing him?

VOTE TO ELIMINATE BAIL!

Wait, is crime increasing in cities or not?

At first I thought it was but then a bunch of people were saying that it’s just misinformation by the media.

Crime is everywhere.

Maybe FoxNews doesn’t cover that.

DC man arrested

There is ZERO EVIDENCE this man is from DC

Honestly, this place is comedy gold.

This article says there are more people, so more crime. Duh. Doesn’t mention that there are more people so more shoppers. Pretty sure the business owners in Tyson’s like having metro stations there.

That runs counter to the narrative that crime is skyrocketing in cities full of scary Black people, so of course not.

It's about criminals using metro to come into VA commit crimes and then go back home to DC or MD. They come over for various crimes.

+1. This is why Georgetown fought having a metro stop in it back in 1976.

Exactly - criminals are opportunist and they recognize that metro as well as the highway infrastructure assist in their ability to commit crimes and have multiple exit strategies.

It's pretty clear from all the news stories, crime reports, etc. that people from DC/MD cross into VA with more frequency to commit crimes not the other way around but whatever, PP.

We must ban cars! We have to blow up the WW bridge! We need to tear down Shirley highway!

That is not why the metro did not go to Georgetown. That is a myth.
