You just want to advise schools to work around your kid? |
Why is that comment stupid? |
My kids are at Landon which has a late start one day which I love. We fit in the orthodontist, allergy shots, physical therapy etc . . . But it would drive me nuts if it rotated. I can't schedule standing appointments and my own work schedule around something that rotates! |

Thank you for sharing this. People are acting as if OP’s request is outside the norm, when it actually matches what is pretty resoundingly, universally recommended by the medical and public health establishment. |
A school that starts that late simply pushes sports and theater to much later in the evening, and in the mid to late fall and early spring, with Daylight Savings, that isn't viable unless the school has lights on the field. Are you going to tell their bosses that they can't start work before 8:30 as well? Their college professors? |
How is this in any way relevant? Private and loudoun don’t go together. No one thinking about sending their kid is going to live there, vice versa |
|
OP: I (and the research community) agree with you! FYI, just clarifying that St. Andrew’s now begins at 8:40am. That change of 5 minutes earlier is effective this fall. And, the school still dismisses at 3:45pm.
Good luck with compiling suitable options. |
I mean, clearly you do.
|
God, they’re correct. |
Is OP’s Google broken? |
| Field starts at 8:30 for high school. |
You don’t sound like a good parent. By now your kids should be able to get up early. What are they going to do when they have jobs? Stop babying then! |
yeah but it is a d school. |
