| It’s not hyperbole when some of us say that Republicans are broken people in deep need of therapy or at least some self reflection. What’s next, are they going to mock Biden because his son died of cancer? Sounds like a real winning GOP move. |

Saw this on my feed and had to post:

He wasn't going to originally but someone had to get Trump out of office. Looks like it worked just fine to me. He was probably nobody's first choice, but he was the one that all Dems knew would get some help from decent Republicans. |
They made fun of him for saying it may be linked to burn pits, so yeah. |
+1 And I actually think that Hunter’s issues were a big part of why he didn’t run in 2016. |
USSS most likely gave it to Hannity. |
It’s just not Hannity. It’s all the producers and staff at Fox News. |
Those aholes need yearly polygraphs. WTF is going on with that agency. |
| In 2022, most American families have sadly been touched by addiction and know how painful it is to love an addict. I don’t understand what they are trying to do. This is heartbreaking. |
| Give it up. The Rs prove one more time their bone deep terror at losing power and scrambling, by whatever means, to try to what-about their way back to relevance. Sickening. |
| Can anyone actually tell us the context or discussion around the airing of this audio? I really do want to know what nonsense Faux News viewers are hearing about this. Yes, it is just vile that they chose to make this some sort of story for their outrage machine, but really, what was the purpose? |
This article sums it up: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/fox-news-hunter-biden-voicemail-addiction-b2200818.html?amp The voicemail was right around the same time as the allegedly illegal firearm purchase, and Hannity was using it to try to tie those allegations about Hunter to Joe Biden, with a little aboutism in there that if this were Trump rather than Biden, the media would be having a feeding frenzy. The problem for Hannity is that he underestimated the human capacity for compassion and empathy, and thus did not appreciate how much of the country would listen to that voicemail and not hear someone enabling or condoning Hunter’s behavior, but rather a father deeply in pain about how much his son was struggling with addiction, and just wanting to find a way to help him. And his attempt to make this about Trump fell flat, because even Trump’s strongest supporters cannot imagine him leaving such a compassionate and loving message for one of his children. |
???? Biden saw what was happening to this country and came out of retirement to continue his service. His son's addiction notwithstanding, the man has risen to the moment, has dealt with international turmoil and domestic unrest, and with the exception of global inflation, is doing a heck of a job. (and yes, he even got Mexico to pay $1.5B in border security) |
His father not being president would not have cured Hunter’s addiction. Personally, I think there is a lot of value in having a president who understands what so many American families are grappling with when it comes to addiction in a loved one. |
