Extended clothing/husky sizes aren't doing the job for 11 y.o son

Have him take up speed skating.

This is what I was going to suggest. Athletic cut is meant for guys with big glutes and thighs, but trimmer waists and they taper in the lower legs so they don't look baggy like a husky cut. You'll likley have to get them hemmed for an 11 YO, but the cut of the pant should work.

If you have Asian friends who are going back to Asia for a vacation or to visit family, give them your DS's measurement and ask them to get jeans and pants stitched for him. It costs less than therapy!

I’ve never seen athletic cut kids pants. Who sells this?

No. Don’t do this.

Why? Jeans are jeans/khakis are khakis.

Women's designs might be more accommodating but wouldn't they accentuate curves and hips more?

It really depends on the style. Boyfriend type mid rise relaxed womens jeans could work. I’d get something 100%cotton

11 yo boys don't wear jeans.

They aren’t. The styles are different and he will look like he’s wearing woman’s clothes, which he will be. Don’t do that to your son unless he specifically asks to wear woman’s clothes.

My son also has thick thighs and glutes, very athletic build and I’m not sure if they carry them anymore but Target carried the athletic cut, the brand was Levi’s Denziens and they were awesome. They were also made out of that soft denim that has a stretch to it. They looked great on him. They weren’t sturdy but were super cheap like $10 a pair. I’ve tried to find them the last few visits, but they were sold out. I’ve had better luck online.

I also buy the lands end soft jeans. I buy the size 14-16 and they fit great. Again they have a bit of stretchiness to them so are comfortable.

I just checked the Target we website and they are in stock. Levi’s Denziens Boys Athletic Jeans. They run up to size 16. They are $20 new so a bit more than I paid a few years ago. But they have more colors now. My son is 5’1 and about 118, I usually buy him a size 14. And they are the perfect length on him. He has fairly long legs so the pants don’t need to be hemmed at all.

My son wears golf pants and shorts. They have a bit of a stretch and he finds them very comfortable.

Childrens place husky is the most generously sized husky I have found. I’ve had this problem but thankfully my boys preferred shorts year round so not a lot of hemming required.

I was thinking maybe clothing for men with dwarfism. Typically they have larger trunks but shorter.

Mine does. Not all boys wear sweatpants daily

Try Gap original fit jeans/pants for boys, I think they have a teen section too. I find the fit is pretty roomy in the regular fit but there is a husky option in the boys category.
