| Try the OLd navy husky for boys |
I am the PP with a similar size son. The men’s Old Navy medium are too short! he had a long torso. |
School is an event your shouldn’t wear sweats to |
Then you better learn how to sew.
|
This is bananas. Kids can wear sweats to elementary school. I cannot imagine this kid needs more than 2 pairs of pants. I would tailor what you can find. I would look for pants that have spandex in them. You might actually need to buy from a woman’s brand and just don’t tell him where they came from. |

What is the problem with sweat pants? My son wore them (once he finally gave up athletic shorts in WI ter, some time in HS), and even to college. Sophomore year he finally decided he would wear pants and jeans.
Our daughter wouldn't wear any pants other than leggings and sweat pants until mid-HS as well. Who cares, their bodies, their choices. I assure you, this is not a big deal, most kids wear nothing but sweat pants, and not a hill to die on. |

You are seeing another reason why elementary and middle school boys wear shorts and hoodies year round. My son wears 99% athletic clothes.
Children’s Place Husky worked for him through 7th grade. I found them online. |
| OP, my son is similar and wears "athletic" cut jeans/pants. Husky and relaxed weren't cut right for his shape, but he seems to be doing okay with "athletic". Good luck! |
| As he gets older, look for clothes for the "hockey butt." There's tons of articles for hockey players and where to find clothing. |
| I had great luck at Kohls and getting husky fit Levis jeans. I haven't had to look for that is a long time but worth looking there. |
| Maybe try plus size girls or women’s clothes. They will more hip, thigh, and rear room |
No. Don’t do this. |
Why? Jeans are jeans/khakis are khakis. |
Women's designs might be more accommodating but wouldn't they accentuate curves and hips more? |
It really depends on the style. Boyfriend type mid rise relaxed womens jeans could work. I’d get something 100%cotton |
