Daughter already saying she is fat

You need to be really careful about what kids are reading these days. My kids read a ton and I have to be very careful about it. Most stuff written in the past 20-30 years or so is complete crap and puts all sorts of bad ideas into their heads.

Does she have older siblings or cousins that she spends time with? Do her friends?

It's from school. Just keep doing what you are doing and keep emphasizing physical activity and healthy eating.

It’s normal to exercise. The only people who think exercise is just to stay thin are, well, fat.


I was thinking the opposite. Only fat people know that it’s normal to exercise and not be thin.


Exercise has a very small impact on staying within a normal BMI, so working out and being overweight is not uncommon. Diet and hormones are the biggest drivers of weight gain.
