hahahhahaha not even close Spend some time overeass and you might change your mind. |
I’d pick Sweden, or any Scandinavian country really, then I’d look to Japan.
USA some things right, but even more things wrong. Too much wealth hoarding by a few and too much poverty for many. |
It depends on your race, gender, wealth, and health/disability status.
So there is no one best country. Best for whom? For what? In which category? |
For a white person what do you recommend? I would consider moving and so would my kids. |
In the past several years, I have very frequently wished my parents HAD actually run to Canada when it was very possible my dad was about to be sent to die in Vietnam (this was right when the government said they were only sending the youngest to die and not those who had completed college) |
For a professional couple (empty nesters) living in the midwest, we have it very very good. We are spoiled with space, among other things in this country.

Probably Switzerland if they would have me. They won’t. |
No, they are miserable there. Birth rate on the decline because of high cost of living and misogynistic work culture. -Korean American |
Nowhere is perfect, but I agree with this. We have structure to limit authoritarianism and concentrated power. If needed, it's a lot easier to move to a new state than a new country to find a better environment for yourself. |
According to the world happiness index, these are the countries that are "best". TBH, though, I wouldn't be happy living in a country where they have like barely 2 hours of daylight for several months of the year.
I could do Ireland, but the others, not so sure. Canada: too cold Australia: too far ![]() |
I like America the best for diversity, in both people, food and topography.
I like any other developed country for physical safety, social safety net, lower cost of healthcare. |
Riiiiight |
I'm sorry, it's hard to tell from your response. Do you disagree that there is a difference in how states govern themselves? That there is a difference in quality of life between the states? That there are some states that are a better fit for different people based on their political preferences or other preferences? That moving from Maryland to Florida is easier than moving from the US to Canada? |
Yes, there's no doubt the US is the best country in the world. Whether folks want to admit it or not, most would live here in a heartbeat if given a chance. |
Canada's weather succccccccccccccccckkkkksssss.
All of the libs complain about burning fossil fuels when Canadians consume the most fossil fuels per capital in the world because the weather sucks so much. |
